Not many non league clubs at our level can claim to have ever been mentioned during Prime Minister's Question Time in the House Of Commons.

Today 'Town' joined the small elite band of clubs that have, when they were mentioned by Tottenham MP David Lammy, during the weekly national televised session, with regard a possible move by Spurs to the 2012 Olympic Stadium.

Lammy pleaded with Prime Minister David Cameron to join him and Tottenham Hotspur fans in signing a petition against the move from their current White Hart Lane home.

" The Prime Minister will be aware that there are two great football clubs in north London - Tottenham Hotspur and Enfield Town,"

"He will also be aware that Spurs are considering moving across London to the east end to the Olympic Park.

" Will he join me and Spurs fans who joined and signed a petition to say no to Tottenham Hotspur, to urge the Spurs chairman to put the club and its history before shareholder value?"

David Cameron's response was one of neutrality, as he refused to get involved in the debate.

"I think my recent experience [referring to England's failed 2018 World Cup bid] has taught me to stay out of international football management," the PM said.

"I think if it is alright, while paying tribute to his club (Spurs) and to Enfield Town and of course to Arsenal as well, I think it'd be right to do that, I think I'll let them make the decision.

"But it is true to say, in the Olympic site there's going to be a fantastic stadium I hope one football club will take advantage of."

END

Fame indeed !! All publicity is good publicity .
