Hi slough town fans!!

I am an AFC Wimbledon fan living in slough and even though I don't support Slough I do follow them and look at their results.

After what has happened to my own club Wimbledon I was really worried that the same was going to happen to my own home towns team and am glad to see that a site has now been found to build a new stadium on and as I live in the Britwell area I would like to help the STSA after all I am an old hand at this now what with Afc Wimbledon doing the same and we now own our own ground after a succesful share scheme. I am already a member of the Dons Trust and own shares in AFC.

That's great slough_womble. It would be great if you could write to both the Council and local papers saying you support the proposals and the advantages it will bring to the Britwell and Northborough areas. Getting along to the Council meeting on Wednesday would also be very helpful, even if the yellow shirt you'll wear will be AFC Wimbledon! Everyone needs to see it's not just Rebels fans in favour of this.

As for anything further, Chris Sliski of the STSA/STST will no doubt be announcing a series of actions we can take over the coming weeks and months.

ps I have also set up a website on highlighting Slough's plight and registered them at Clubs in Crisis something that the AFC Wimbledon people did to help reach fans of teams in the same situation through this Wimbledon got some strong links with the York City and Brighton fans and that in turn helped generate ideas for raising money.

Thanks for your support...

We have been also working very hard with one of your trust members (Dave Boyle) he has been very very helpful....

We need the Britwell residents to know that this project will not just be about a new stadium for STFC but a complete community regeneration of the area and the provisions to give the local residents new faclities as well !

The Supporters Trust started very strongly on Saturday and pledges have been strong but we are working from a fan base of about only 300 supporters so the Trust will not be that big , however our supporters are truly dedicated and together we will do all we can....

The trust aim will be at this time to work along side our club but we will hopfully developing the juniors and youth teams and giving our financial support to these types of projects... and ensuring we have contingency plans in place.

Up the Rebels..........

Cheers Chris Sliski

Message to PJ... in Guildford....

Send me your address and I will forward a trust from to you asap....regards

Anyone would think we're talking about Beirut, not Britwell. The majority of Britwell, in terms of it's housing is ok and well kept. The only part that is not too nice is the area directly around the shops and high rise flats in Wentworth Avenue but then that's part of the area planned for redevelopment. As for it being a no-go area, I lived there for six years and never felt physically threatened once.

As for your property, that's a slightly different matter. My car was broken into a few times and stolen once. Someone did also try to break into the house twice but 99% of the problems are kids. Yes, that's still not good but the way some people talk you'd think that violent gangs are waiting on every street corner!

This is a great opportunity both for us as a club but also the Britwell/Northborough areas. If we are looking to increase our fan base it's one of the best places we could go as Britwell has a large number of young people. Both us and the residents should be embracing this opportunity as a positive one.

But then who, outside of our existing fan base, wants a large football stadium at the end of their garden?

Fair enough, I think it's a great step forward for the area, and I can see it being to have one (re-generation of Wentworth shops & area) you have to have the other (football stadium). That's how it will get through...

Yes, I can see the argument but Kay was talking to Rob Anderson on Saturday who said the planned location of the stadium within Kennedy Park meant that it overlooks nobody. That was one of the best aspects of it, apart from the fact that it'll be the home to finest team in the whole of non-league football!
