After 20 days without a game,it was good to get back on board again with a fairly decent Vase game at The Hawthorns. Stansted took the lead after 26 mins with their no.7 who looked impressive throughout following a neat move.The hosts started the second half better and despite numerous penalty area scrambles they just couldn't put one away,whilst Stansteds' no.7 should have made the scorline greater after he missed 3 decent chances in the second half.The game finished on a bit of an ugly note as after a scramble from a last-minute corner,there was a brawl by the goalmouth and some idiot in an Ipswich Town jacket reached over the barrier and grabbed the Stansted skipper by the throat,hope that was noticed by relevant parties as he did the home club no favours at all,after calm was restored the Stansted skipper was yellow carded much to the chagrin of half a dozen locals who should know better by their ages.

 

But Stansted held on for a deserved win on the day and now face a long journey to Bodmin Town in Cornwall in round 4.
