After what ithought was a fairly even first half with both keepers being called into action and a few shots being blocked when looking on target the floodlights failed at half time! After a delay of around about 45 mins for what we were told was a lack of diesel in the generator :492: the lights were restored and the second half got underway. We scored in the 58th minute good work between i think Jake Parsons and Chenns with the latter pulling the ball back to the penalty spot for Robinson to score with a fine finish.Just over 5 mins later the lights went out again [ not sure enough diesel was put in or was it another problem?] giving the ref no option but to abandon the game. Sad really as i thought we could have been in for an interesting end to the match!

Just to set the record straight there was enough diesel in the tank as we had only filled it up before the game.

A lack of diesel was thought to be the initial problem but having put even more in the problem re-occurred.

The issue seems to be that the dirt and debris that builds up in fuel tanks has been sucked though and is blocking the fuel line and preventing the generator from producing the right amount of power.

Seeing that this is a new generator it is a problem that no one could have foreseen and is an unfortunate situation.

Thanks Mal, I reported on Radio Wey yesterday that the problem was due to a lack of diesel, as that's what I had been told. Please accept my apologies and I will of course make sure that the full story is included in next week's match preview on air.

It was a shame that the game was abandoned, as whilst it may not of been high in quality at times, as the long ball was played far too often by either side IMO as both were capable of a good passing game, it was an exciting end to end first half with, what I recall, three goalline clearances and around half a dozen goalmouth scrambles. David Pearce was at his best, and it was to see Robbo score his first goal for the club (although it won't be counted, but a great build up lead to his finish), but my MOM was Michael Ewang - energetic, battling and bossed the midfield in my opinion.

All being said though, whilst it was a shame that the game couldn't be completed, the referee IMO made the right decision to call a halt to proceedings.
