Can I suggest Arkwright in goal as nothing gets past him with out paying a price?

Littlehampton. I think 'the i' is suggesting the board pick the team. Jim Cantle at Centre forward? Hi Jim.

Andy, what an absolutely splendid idea. Think Jim, with his nifty footwork and eye for opportunity, would scare the living daylights out of the opposition. Good thinking old boy !!!

And the winner of the big wooden spoon for stirring must be 'The i'.

Well done!

I must admit I'm glad I'm not the only one that speaks his mind . Whilst it was pleasing to see a turnaround of that nature on saturday lets not get too carried away , LOOK WHO IT WAS AGAINST  Its doing the business against the better sides Not just a few of the dross make up the numbers teams !

Thanks for your support Out_Of_Towner. I agree that we were playing a team who had only won once in the league this season and that it appears was aginst our old friends at Cheshunt.

What i said before is lets see what the next few games have to offer and then make some type of decision as to our way forward- What ever that may be-

It will be the Boards decision as to what happens next- Lets hope they make the right decision for the good of the club and its future.

You have to watch what you say sometimes Mr Eye , There are always those that cant see the wrongs in the club , Look what happened when Jim was manager ! I think he'd still be here now if he hadn't resigned , And then we had Stuart as Manager and guess what two or three of the up who crew saw no wrong in him either , I must admit I like Steve and what he's done so far, its just Injuries and the usual suspensions that have taken their toll , The players that get continually sent off need internal discipline such as big fines etc, This is a big problem for me , As for taking back players who have previously left is another issue for me ,IF WE KNOW WHAT THEY ARE LIKE THEN WHY ARE THEY BACK HERE ?? Just my opinion , Look out here comes E U and some of the up who crew , Time to duck .

A very simple question to The Eye.

As queried by Fellabob, in earlier postings, are you suggesting that the board should consider parting company with Steve and his management team ??

Please explain exactly what you are proposing and why.

I am not suggesting the board should get rid of Steve and the management team today. I am just suggesting 'what will the supporters feel like if at the end of the season if we are not promoted AGAIN. I feel that If we lose a few more games then our hopes of reaching the play offs will be a long distant memory and with a new ground on the horizon thats not good news for the club or the supporters.

Looks like the only thing we may win this season will be the Middlesex Charity Cup and thats dependant on if we select a reasonable team against the 1893

Again I have to agree with you Out_Of_Towner. Steve had done a good job for us and i think his problems are as you stated. I am also troubled by continously getting back players who have played for us before and left us for what they think is a better club. However ever since we were formed we seem to do this with players returning 3,4 and 5 times.

One other thing i would like to bring forward is that there have been players selected over the season who most supporters would agree have not been playing up to their potential yet were continously played in the next game and still were not up to standard.

Good points and stable comments for a change (in my view) but who are the continuos players being sent off that need internal discipline??????

And, indeed who are the players who are keepeing their place regardless of performance? As far as I can see, whatever Steve's faults may be favouritism in selection isn't one. apart from anything else lately our selection has been on the 'last eleven standing' principle.

That's a relief, thought you were implying Steve was on borrowed time and his future depended on results over the next 2-3 matches.

Really think you need to temper your expectations with reality and remember this is a very competitive league, with a good number of very ambitious clubs (inc. ourselves) seeking promotion. We are extremely fortunate to have a very popular, capable, well respected manager, who inspires confidence and has done very well in his relatively short time at our club. Steve is doing everything possible to get us into the play-offs again this season. There is still a very long way to go to the end of the season, and he and his players deserve our full undivided support to help them achieve that objective. There are no guarantees, but we can be absolutely confident they will give it their best shots.

Not sure what you expected us to win this season. We have had our best run ever in the FA Cup and FA Trophy, producing much needed extra income for the club, narrowly lost away to Hendon in the Middlesex Senior Cup, and are now seriously focussed on climbing the league. Apart from local rivalry and bragging rights, wouldn't have thought the Middlesex Charity Cup figured high on our agenda, would you ??

The salary will be chicken feed for Jim C! I have heard that the new owners want someone who will instil some bite into their game so I believe there will be lots of fowls!cheesy%20(2).gif

You can tell the pantomine (silly) season is here !!
