Waltham Forest v ETFC

Crazy game. Totally dominated the first half as has been true to form quite a lot in recent weeks and hit the upright twice, it was much the same old story, no luck whatsoever.

Came out for the 2nd half like a different side and allowed Forest to get a foothold in the game during the period leading up to JS being sent off. This incident itself I cannot comment on as I was at slightly the wrong angle and I wouldn't like to pass judgement, but going down to 10 came at a bad time for us when we were having a bad spell in the game. What followed was a spell where we were all at sixes and sevens and found ourselves 2-0 down after some sloppy defending and passing, with many Town fans thinking it was game over. Forest had a couple if good chances to make it 3-0 but Rob made a couple of good saves to keep it at 2-0.

Then the comeback. All I can say is that the second half is as poor as I've seen us play for sometime but then all of a sudden our luck changed with 5 minutes left and we found the net 3 times. Winner from Walid with a good finish, who we need to get in the game more as he is very direct on the ball and knows where the goal is, Defoe-esque!!

Well done to Steve and the lads and to be fair to the boys they never gave up and deserve credit, they showed how much they wanted it. Let's hope this kicks starts something good!!

Oh and best wishes to their number 5 who went off with what looked like a bad injury, he was by far their best player and without him the game could have panned out a lot differently I feel.

Up the Town!!

Don't we just make hard work of it. It gets on my nerves it takes till the last 5 mins to score, but all credit to the boys for taking all 3 points. Great finish to win it and a great celebration to top it of!

Thought walleed was supurb up front and worked hard throughout the game! As always kirby was ammense, never stopped getting the team going and a good header back across for the second goal.

Let's just hope this can really kick start our season

well done steve and the lads

Its all about 3pts and does not matter how we get them, although Steve's and Jason's life insurance premiums could be rising in the new year if we leave matters to the last 5mins on a regular basis.

The clubs above us are dropping points left right and centre and we can gratefully say (at last) we have made ground on closing the gap on the minimum 5th place target. If league positions were worked out on a pts to matches played ratio we would be 4th, however, before the wiser supporters bark at me, It's points in the bag that matter.

So a good x-mas run and I think it's fair to say we'll be back on track, saying that, as i've said lots of times before wins cover up cracks and matters again need combing through to see why we are making things so difficult for ourselves. One fact that is evident though is team spirit/enthusiasm/attitude is top drawer as thats the only way any team comes back from 2 down on 86 mins.

Romford next and they'll pose a tougher challenge. But at least Steve's cat (if he has one) does'nt have to run for cover as he walks through the front door tonight.

Match report with new graphics of the line ups and some action of the game.... Gutted i didn't capture the winner... A crazy game!!

Cold End-I prefer the Match of The Day type highlights personally. The bit and pieces take some of the anticipation away. Just a view as all the coverage is very good and much appreciated.

I can explain that one as the new cold end camera doesn't like Windows movie maker which i used before... Hopefully i'll get back to the highlights MOTD style once I get to grips with it maybe by the big Cheshunt game..

Well hopefully this is the turning point, not a great game by any stretch of the imagination but 3 points are 3 points. I think the 3 points are down to the team digging deep and showing a lot of character, this needs to be carried on to the end of the season, and as usual the Town supporters played their part. The management still need to instill more vision in the team's play. We have certain players that are worthy of their place, and need to build around them.

Some pictures now loaded on Flickr. I had a bit of trouble adjusting for the colour of the lights (by far the worst I've worked under). No doubt with more time (and if I knew what I was doing) I could have done a bit better but these will have to do.

Lets stop making excuses, the performance are just not good enough for the last 10-12 games. Big Changes are needed if we have a hope of going further

I assume you're a Waltham Forest fan talking about Forest's last 10-12 games, as I think most Town fans will tell you that the performances over the last 10 -12 games have been pretty good in the most part, it's the results that have been "just not good enough"...

I think your key words are 'in the most part' and definately results are not good enough. I will give the management 2-3 more games before some action is reqd otherwise Ryman North for next season going into our new ground

Are you suggesting ( the eye ) that we should part with Steve and his management team ?

Are you saying they only have 2-3 games to show what they are capable of in your view ?

Didnt they prove their capabilities last season ?

We would like to be top of the league having 48 points from 48 , but we arent unfortunately ?

Did you not think to come to the AGM and ask Steve questions and give your thoughts ?

Were you at the game yesterday ? and if so did you not see the spirit that has been installed at the club , those lads will run till they drop for the club and for Steve and his management team.

Any other thoughts from any more people on this subject ???

Fellabob, like you I really don't know what this guy is on about. Think the majority of Town fans would agree that we have a strong squad of players, and stacks of confidence and respect for a very good manager and management team.

Living quite a distance away I can't get to as many games as I would like and wasn't at Ilford yesterday. However, I have been involved / followed the old and new club for more years than I care to remember. I am not an expert, but do know good football when I see it, and a good manager. I believe, from the performances I have seen, that we have have played some excellent football this season (and last) without always getting the return we deserve. Our cause has not been helped by injuries to key players, such as SB up front, who would have made an enormous difference to our results, and will when they return.

I find it very strange that (the eye) should be posting unhelpful comments, at a time when we are all feeling positive, after the lads completed an amazing comeback yesterday to register a much needed win. Not many teams would have stuck in and turned a game around in such a short space of time. That took a lot of guts, determination and belief in their own ability, and I think Steve and his team can take alot of credit for that.

As they say, you can please some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time. Keep at it Steve you are doing a very good job and will see a return for all your hardwork for the club.

I too was'nt at yesterdays game due to family commitments. But have been to the vast majority of the games.

Results have been poor of late but the performances and commitment on the field have been very good. We have a very good nucleous and the team spirit is very good despite the bad run.

The squad would run through a brick wall for the shirt they wear and thats good enough for me. Like on a previous posting I stated if you calculate a pts to games played ratio we'd be 4th, so a good x-mas/new year would see us return into the play off spots.

Steve has my personal full backing as a fan/club member the players are better than the current 11th place and hopefully will prove that when they catch up with their games and the supporters I mingle with are wholly supporting the team/manager. NOTHING drastic is required, just a clean bill of fitness and health as well as a touch of good luck.

I'm still convinced you're a Waltham Forest fan - aren't they due to be moving back into Wadham Lodge for next season? dance%20%282%29.gif

On a serious note though, and as fellabob suggested, if people have issues with Steve, why didn't they raise them at the AGM? Personally I was very happy to have Steve in charge prior to the AGM, and the way he spoke, and what he said has only reinforced this. Hopefully over the next few games we can turn more of these decent performances into points.

Thanks for your support Out_Of_Towner. I agree that we were playing a team who had only won once in the league this season and that it appears was aginst our old friends at Cheshunt.

What i said before is lets see what the next few games have to offer and then make some type of decision as to our way forward- What ever that may be-

It will be the Boards decision as to what happens next- Lets hope they make the right decision for the good of the club and its future.
