Town were made to work hard for a 2-1 win last night, with goals from Izci Eren and Bryan Hammatt.

Izci's goal was one of the best by a Town player this season, as he finished off a move he'd started in his own half of the pitch.

The Town side was:

Kemal Ozyasa, Michael Abu, Jay Siva, Izci Eren, John Fitzpatrick, Eric Gbo (Rhys Shirley-Clarke), Danny Jones, Volkan Calcalioglu (Mustafa Denizer), Liam Hope ©, Bryan Hammatt (Ilko Yakimou), Fabio Valenti

Eric Gbo picked up what may be a fractured ankle in the first half; we wish him a speedy recovery.

Just for info-Spoke to Eric and he told me his foot had no fracture or break and was diagnosed in the end as only sprain. He thinks he'll be out of action for 2-3 weeks so thats a relief for him and for those who were showing concern at the time.

Thanks- please pass Eric all of our best wishes.

If this weather holds he'll be fit well before the next game!

Seems like a strong side was picked.

Steph-You should see some of the oppositions line up's when we've played away.

Away to Harlow they had 7 first team squad players playing of which 3 were regulars (information from their coach)

Away to Hornchurch they had 6 players involved in the first team league fixture 2 days prior to our reserve game(info obtained off their web site) including Jonathan Hunt (over 100 Premier League outings for Birmingham City).

Away to Potters Bar many of their non playing first team squad players played against us.

Our line up involved Dan Jones, Fabio, Jay the 3 have been somewhat inactive with the first team of late due to the new signings, Bryan's coming back from an injury spell and Liam's a good clubman who smelt a game and preferred to play than train. It's the way it should be too, but it has not been possible due to the massive injury list we have had to deal with.

The reserve team is largely made up of friends of the club, PASE boys and trialist's. And to be fair our lack of strength has been found out in away games despite us giving Hornchurch and Harlow a good run for their money where the result's certainly did not reflect the balance of play.

Reserve games have been all entertainment this season (apart from Potters Bar away) and I recommend it's worth a trip to watch if anyone is free to do so. Next Game weather permitting is the 10th of January home to Aveley, I've already got 2-3 new decent 18yr olds to look at for that game, one of them Izci Eren scored v's Thurrock and looked very good when he was in midfield before having to cover for the injured Eric Gbo.
