Todays game

the point is Hornchurch were beaten by a better team, or should i say a 14 man team. the referee's decisons were diabolical along with that of his linesmen and i thought the standard was supposed to be better in this league, well i know that last season we had some dodgy ref's but this guy takes the top award for his consistency he was so blatantly one sided he should have been wearing the blue of Billericay. yes we can also say that our team should of put the chances away we had and perhaps this also cost us the game, we also allowed Billericay to run the game as they wanted instead of us controlling the game, and as for the cost to enter the ground and i use the word "ground" loosely as i have seen better football pitches in the local parks, the cost for myself and my son was £14.50 i asked if they had concessions for disabled but was told you either pay the £8.00 for an adult or don't go in,not very user friendly.

I Don't See How They Were Better Than Us ! In The Second Half The Only Two Chances They Got, They Converted ! Ok, Their Second Goal Was Down To An Error !

We Can Hoof A Ball Up The Pitch, Same As Everybody, But We Prefer To Pass It Round Which Doesn't Always Work !

You Can't Even Call Their Ground A Stadium, They've Just Got A Piece Of Land, Marked Out A Pitch, Put A Barrier Around It And Added A Few Stands !

The Best Bit Of The Ground Must Be The Boxes Up The Top Though Wat's The Point Of Having Boxes With A Crap Ground, The Boxes Are So High, You Must Be Able To Get A Good Look From The Countryside From Them !

they had 14 men on the pitch Mark and i'd say that gave them a slight advantage and that's why they were the better team...........

no it would seem that this rule was only in the ref's rule book and you don't have a copy of this particular book, still the return game at our place should be a little more fairer............

Personally I find this chat about the ref being in the pay of the home club a bit childish and am dissapointed I've joined in. To be honest, if your club feel that, that was the situation, I would suggest that is a very serious allegation and is up to your club to go to the league and FA. I'm sure that both parties would be very happy to listen to your complaints and investigate it. I would imagine that your club don't and won't so therefore a fairer return game at your gaff will be as fair as our previous meet on Saturday. Officiated by one ref and two linesmen, who will, like yesterday, be impartial. That is their job and I expect they will do it to the best of their ability (a question mark here as I have seen enough of the ref's at this level).

I would suggest then that the ref was a little inept for both sides but for the penalty he was well placed to give it. I have asked other Billericay supporters and they were doubious but agreed with my thoughts. The ref was on top of the situation and therefore well placed to see what happened and give the decision. Those of us around the ground were not, especially those Hornchurch supporters who were behind the Billericay goal (unless, of course, there is a new breed of superman with wonderful vision being bred at Hornchurch). As for fouls and incidents in our box against Hornchurch, we had enough players going down injured to suggest that it was in our favour but the ref didn't blow for all of them, especially in the first half. So it works both ways. Only thing is we are not griping 'cos we won. There have plenty of times when we could've but I think most of us who are old enough and mature enough to accept that these things happen are of the opinion, penalty decisions aside, the ref cannot lose or win a game. He can spoil it yes but lose a team the game...nope.

There is one more thought tho. Billericay have been playing well but not getting the results (okay, Hitchin was horrendous) and my thoughts are well documented on our forum. We needed a break. How many times do we need to hit the bar (twice in the past three games), have the ball cleared off the line (too many to count) and have the game bossed by inept officials. I would gratfully accept that after all this we needed a break and were given one (but was it deserved? - I think so, as I said, the ref was on top of the situation to give the penalty) but there wasn't really a lot in the game until the final 20 minutes when we wanted it and your players didn't or just ran out of ideas. It happens, accept it and go on to the next game.
