bitterness....

morning good fans of HFC...I trust that you are all well and looking forward to todays visit to Billericay...a real local derby in every sense...

Apologies for my absence...I do sometimes have to work...unfortuntely...very unfair....anyway....

you may have noticed the 'new arrivals' with their views about events at the club...interesting to note that as soon as a decision is made by HFC a couple of new logins appear....hhmmmm...we are enlightened are we not to this trouble making....

the situation is somewhat clearer than these bitter people would have us think....when Mick was manager at the club and Tony was Chairman...the owners of the club backed them 100% in transfer activity...MM was never refused money to sign a player that he wanted...he was also given a free hand to transfer players out of the club if he so chose to do....the result of that support was promotion from both the third division and the 1st Division Nth....

and yes people have short memories..the new owners of the club took over in January 2001 the club was about to fold and numerous bills remained unpaid...and yes...wages were paid from that date...as were bonus payments for the first promotion...that is not to say that money did it all.. MM was a very good manager....

now we have GB and Gary in the chair...the instructions from the owners are quite specific and clear cut...win this championship.....this year... and continue to improve the ground for a conference propper grading before April 1st next year...

they have the full financial backing that MM had and quite obviously feel that certain players are either not good enough or do not fit the pattern of team building that they wish to achieve...

I cannot guarantee that they will succeed in their set task...winning the premier league is a daunting task....let alone the odds against three successive promotions....however...I can guarantee two things....the financial support is bigger and stronger than last year....and the bitterness of the new logins will not in any way stop the club from chasing its goals...

yes there are players leaving who were 'heros' last year...football is full of 'yesterdays heros'....fine players...fine people and I personally will miss them and they will always be welcome at our club...but this is the premier league and GB is the manager and we must all support him...as we supported MM last year...

lets judge everyone at the end of the season shall we...we've played six games...lost 2 won 2 drawn 2 and are in 12th position...

god... I hate having to work...its terribly inconvenient....

keep the faith Urchins...let not these sneeky logins undermine our success....they WANT us to fail....

Bitterness? Surely just asking whether or not the speculation about players 'being forced to leave the club' is true cannot be classed as bitterness! Surely most urchins fans would be interested to see if this true or not.

Doesn't take much to get people's backs up around here does it!

Official seems very quick to jump to the defence of any decisions made. Are people not allowed their opinion on this forum without their heads being bitten off?

As for wanting Hornchurch to fail, I'm a fan for goodness sake. Yes I am a new user, but that doesn't have to make me a trouble maker!

Anyway, back to business good luck this afternoon lads!

just another thought.....

you quote

'speculation about players being forced to leave the club'

now it has been widely publicised on these forums that all our players are on contracts...so how can they be 'forced' to leave...

do your homework on previous threads...(they're all still on here) before posting drivel and gossip....then you may sound more like a true fan and less like a trouble maker...

always about....have to keep up with early morning events...

I really have no idea what is happening with Barry but I will find out and let you know...

I expect there will be a lot of comings and goings in the next few weeks as GB builds his own team...unfortunately it is part of football and we have to get used to it....

I too feel a little sense of loss for the old corinthinian values of non league football...but we have to move forward...corinthian values usually end up in the bankrupcy courts these days...shame but we started it and we have to get on with it...

enjoy the game tommorrow...I almost certainly wont be there unless I can charter a helicopter....

now there's an idea... <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Agree with you Mr. Official, people must remember, there’s no room for being sentimental when it comes to football. Now I am not trying to be patronising to some of our supporters, but I imagine a good many, like myself, have only joined the wonderful Urchins family over the past few years. I also suspect that a good many are pretty new to the whole non-league experience. Unfortunately, it is a fact of life, but players come and go at non-league football clubs on almost a weekly basis. Yes, heroes from last season will go, Rizzo, Woodsy and Marsden, to name but a few, but lets face it, last seasons team would probably struggle in this division. We want to challenge for top spot and to do that we need the best team assembled as we can possibly get. The same may possibly happen next season if we get promoted. It’s a shame when players go, but lets wish them all the best for the future and then get on with ours!

Up the Urchins!

How about an airport in Hornchurch the Uncle Urchin Airodrome

On a serious side i was thinking the same sort of thing the other day, the best thing about the club is also the worst and that's the closeness. The way that alot of us fans get to know players and it makes you wonder whether some are sad to see the person go rafther than the player.

We should all be reileved that we have got a manager who is prepared if need be..to be ruthless.

well put Urchino...not many clubs have the same closeness as we have with our players and yes it does make for more emotive thoughts when they go...

I was a little sad myself to see the boys leaving this week but we have to trust GB and GC to get on with it....

we've been a little spoiled really and we must adjust...once GB has his team in place it will all settle down..
