I know its a few weeks away but the next game i shall be able to attend is the home game against Cheshunt on Bank Holiday Monday 27th Dec.

The website says its a 7:45 KO, could someone confirm if this is correct. Being a Bank Holiday and a local derby one would have thought it would make more sense to have it as a 3:00 KO?

I recall boxing day games kicking off at 11:00 so there was time to get to the match - a pleasant post christmas walk - watch the game. I remember a particular game against Barking where there was a fan chanting throughout the game Bar - - KING. Barking lost 4 or 5-0. Then off to the pub whilst the women were busy cooking the dinner (cold collation from chrismas lunch) and home in time for Billy Smarts circus a Pantomime or some other Christmas Treat.

Those were the days.

Or an 11am kick-off away to Basingstoke one Boxing Day, that was a hoot (And a 3-0 win I think?)

Those were the days indeed Steph. Long past but not forgotten.

Billy Smarts grandson Gary Smart owns/runs Harbour Park a good-size amusement complex down here. Bet he would be quite chuffed to know that someone still remembers his grand-dads circus !
