Finished Ashford 1 - 2 Slough

Sinclair with both goals.

Overall good performance.

After thinking it was definitely OFF, I found out at 2.30 it was ON! Mad dash to Ashford arrived 3.05 ish and well worth the trip. We played really well, the only negative was that it should have been 5-0.

Ashford were unbeaten in 10 games, lost once in the last 15 and and that includes an FATrophy win at Bishops Stortford (Conf. Sth) and a draw at Hitchin! So didn't we do well!!

Thought we were good value for the win today and made things hard for ourselves in the end today by not taking some of the many chances we created.

First half we were good and for the majority of the half in control. Second-half opening twenty minutes was some of the best fooball we've played in a while I thought. Last 15 minutes we were a bit dodgy and looked a bit vunerable at the end. But held on without too many scares. Ashford have had some decent results of late in their Trophy run, so we did very well today.

Sincs will get the headlines and it was a great second-goal, but thought Paul Coyne was excellent as was Steve Perkins who gets fitter with every game played.

My one slight nag is we need to start putting some of the many chances we create in games away as we saw last season and the season before we were in this division what goal difference can mean when it comes to making, or not maing the play-off's.

Last of all well done to Ashford for getting the game on, not calling it off on Friday which I bet some local teams regret now and the ref for giving the game the go-ahead.

a thoroughly satisfactory performance this afternoon, though we did our best to give asford a share of the points . at half time there was only one team in it, the second half started with ashford pushing really hard as was expected and we coped with that well but then a few missed chances and some slap dash play, it was as though we thought that we had it in the bag , lost concentration a poor pass and we were on the back foot ashford with their tails up were going all out for the equaliser, we were trying to run time down but were even unable to keep it in the corner, where the ref got four minutes overtime from i will probable never know there were no stoppages and not even a full compliment of substitutions, still in the result was right in the end i think the better team won (no bias there)

we almost shot ourselves in the foot by somehow chucking a very comfortable 2-0 lead away. whenever we had the ball we seemed likely to have a chance. was only poor choice of pass that killed a lot of attacks and when we did have chances there was quite a few wild wayward shots that should have been better

saying that after a bit of a break we never looked really all that likely to be in big trouble against Ashford. must say im surprised to hear how good their record has been

overall happy with the win though as i say we very nearly threw the game. their keeper made a clanger for the first goal but it was a deserved win. would have been unfair if they had got a point

Coyne worked well in midfield

Perkins and Seeby were awesome against their very useful #9

Martin again was very good. fair play to him the turnaround recently by him has been amazing. finally we see what he is all about

Good performance with the team really looking up for it and worthy winners in the end.

Should have scored a lot more goals and very nearly shot ourselves in the foot with a poor choice of pass on the half way line by one of our defenders resulting in an Ashford goal and a nervy last ten minutes.

Although several players had good games including Pauld Coyne, personally I would have given MoM to Chris Seeby or Steve Perkins who were both excellent in snuffing out the Ashford forwards.

Return of the video footage today after being inundated with messages on the forum to bring it back. All two of them? Anyway, highlights now up on the Official Site at http://www.sloughtownfc.net. Will be sorting out the aspect ratio issue with the current file tomorrow morning.

Enjoy, and as always, looking for an assistant for interviews and matchday filming please.

Well Gary, I'm on a train home having just watched the highlights on my phone, so I for one am appreciative of your efforts.

Should also say well done to Ashford for getting the game on. Certainly glad they did even though I had to miss it!

Good second goal from Sinclair. Looked like we could have scored a few more too.

A good day for Slough -- three points and one less game to catch up on when the teams around us are piling up their backlogged fixtures.

Only saw the highlights, but even from a distance, the Ashford goalkeeper looked 12 years old!

As for the video highlights, I for one am extremely appreciative whenever they are available, but due to the fact that I'm unable to contribute, I really don't feel in a position to demand them of the club due to the personal inconvenience for those actually filming.

So... understandable if the highlights aren't available, but enjoyed immensely when they are.

COME ON YOU REBELS - LET'S MAKE IT FIVE WINS IN A ROW NEXT WEEK!

Well worth the seven hour round trip by train, as my car was still snowed/iced in at home

We outplayed them, had numerous chances, and should have been out of site.

Yes we missed a load of them, but you need to have the chances to be able to score, and the payers wanted to score

I was talking to an Ashford person afterwards, and he told me that he had just seen the best team to have visited them so far this season.

Easily the better side and a very good win, although after they scored we were indeed hanging on a bit. All credit to Ashford for getting the game on which was

rewarded by their biggest gate this season. Nice club and friendly fans as well. MOM: Perkins for me. Felt a bit sorry for their keeper after the fumble for the

first goal. Must be the youngest looking keeper I have ever seen in senior football. Was he not on the X-Factor on Saturday night (One Direction)
