PRIMAL SCREAM TO RELEASE GREATEST HITS ALBUM

Primal Scream are set to release their first-ever compilation album, ‘Dirty Hits', November 3. The 18-track album will also be available with a 13-track limited edition remixed disc featuring Terry Farley’s take on ‘Loaded’, Chemical Brothers Swastika Eyes' re-rub and Massive Attack’s interpretation of ‘Exterminator’. 

Many say the Glaswegian rockers spearheaded the rock meets dance movement that that spawned the likes of The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Death in Vegas and more. Bobby Gillespie’s outfit finally hit the big time in 1990 courtesy of the Andrew Weatherall remix that gave them universal hit ‘Loaded’. ‘Screamadelica' the long player that followed emerged as one of the key albums of the decade.  

Recalling the events of the band’s colourful career path, in the style of an Irvine Welsh novel, Gillespie said: "Car crashes, near fatal stabbings, death threats, bar room brawls with broken bottles in Texas, jamming with George Clinton maggot overlord, commander in chief of the Parliament/ Funkadelic mothership, duetting with Kate Moss on...'Some Velvet Morning'...The Scream keep rockin'..."

No Ivy Ivy Ivy though, obviously forgetting they started as a punk band. And "I'm losing more than I ever had" (which is Loaded with words) needs to be there as it's a bloody classic!
