Saturday 4th December Games Off

Recommended Posts

BEEN IN MY GARDEN, IT'S SOFT WITH THE RAIN LAST NIGHT MELTING THE SNOW, YOU COULD PLAY ON MY LAWN ALTHO' IT WILL ONLY BE A 2-A-SIDE LOL !

SO HAVE CLUBS BEEN A LITTLE PREMATURE IN CALLING GAMES OFF I ASK ? ............ FOOD FOR THOUGHT, JUST DESPERATE TO GET MY FOOTBALL FIX TO BE HONEST !!!!!!!!

CHECKED OUT RYMAN SOUTH GAMES, ALL POSTPONED BAR RAMSGATE WHO HAVE A PITCH INSPECTION, NO, I'M NOT DRIVING ALL THAT WAY !

SO IT LOOKS LIKE EARLY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING WITH THE MISSUS, WHICH I SUPPOSE IS A GOOD THING..........NOT ! I SUPPOSE IT GETS IT OUT OF THE WAY THO'

OH HOLD ON THERE'S HOPE YET ! JUST READ ON ANOTHER THREAD THAT THERE IS A 10.30 PITCH INSPECTION AT COBHAM FOR THE MOLE VALLEY VS EGHAM GAME....................OH PLEASE !!!!!!!1

Bit of a late reply, but the above must have been the biggest joke of the season! I was at the club on Sat as we had training out on the training pitch in the snow. One of our committee members had to get to the club as the match referee insisted on doing a pitch inspection, despite the pitch being under at least 5 inches of snow (he was informed informed of this yet still insisted)!

I then found out that he can still claim £15 from his fees for the priviledge of saying what was pretty obvious from the offset!!

Totally agree Jurgs what a joke. Obviously just after the fee!! We all knew on Thursday there was NO chance of any play with the sub zero temp so what the ref was playing at i dont know. Had made other plans anyway but had to wait for a pitch inspection before i could make sure.

Are you local to the ground? Hows it looking for our game with egham on tuesday?

I've no idea about Tues mate as I live in Windsor and we have had sod all snow here apart from a bit of a dusting last week. Was surprised at just how much was at Cobham as when I got left on Sat the bit I had was completely melted (I think W&E FC was one of the few non league games on Sat).

I wouldn't hold much hope as if the smow has all melted the pitch could well take a while to drain, or just be frozen solid as know it's due to be cold over the next few days.

nice guy what did you think of the game on saturday.coffee%20%282%29.gif

HI TF, I TAKE IT YOU MEAN THE ASHFORD GAME AGAINST SLOUGH ? FIRSTLY, MUST ADMIT THE PITCH LOOKED VERY GOOD AFTER THE BAD WEATHER WE HAVE HAD.

IF SO, NOT A BAD GAME BUT EXPECTED MORE FROM ASHFORD TO BE HONEST, SLOUGH DESERVED TO WIN AS THEY WERE THE BETTER SIDE, INFACT THEY BARE NOT A BAD SIDE ACTUALLY. ASHFORD WERE SLOW AND ONLY STARTED PLAYING AND PLY SOME PRESSURE IN THE LAST 10-15 MINS WHEN THEY PULLED ONE BACK AFTER BEING 2-0 DOWN, BUT THOUGHT SLOUGH WERE COMFORTABLE WINNERS IN MY OPINION....

DID YOU GO ?

yes i went. thought much the same as you. both sides were not the greatest going forward. defence very much on top, ashford keeper felt sorry for never that standard. the watching peircey has nothing to fear. as this is the league both our last 2 champions play in, think the standard is not as big a jump as some might think. think there was over a 100 floating fans so a nice amount into the coffers. well done ashford for getting game on.coffee%20%282%29.gif

TF I AGREE, HAVING WATCHED CCL GAMES THIS SEASON, IN MY OPINION POSSIBLY THE TOP 5-6 CCL CLUBS SHOULD HOLD THEIR OWN ON THE EVIDENCE SHOWN FROM SATURDAY'S ZAMARETTO GAME.

YEAH, I SAW PIERCY EATING A PIE.............OR 2 !!!

I DID SAY ON ANOTHER THREAD THAT SOME CLUBS ''MAY'' HAVE BEEN A BIT PREMATURE IN POSTPONING THEIR GAME ON FRIDAY, WHEN THE OVERNIGHT RAIN AND WARMER WEATHER (IF YOU CAN SAY THAT) MELTED THE SNOW, WHICH WAS A SURPRISE I MUST ADMIT. IT JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT THE HARD WORK BY THE ASHFORD GROUNDSTAFF DID PAY OFF WITH EXTRA REVENUE FOR THE CLUB, WHICH WAS THE SAME AS THE MOLESEY GROUNDSTAFF DID IN GETTING THE CHERTSEY GAME ON, THERE WAS A GOOD CROWD THERE SO EXTRA REVENUE FOR THE MOLES WHICH ALL CLUBS NEED AT THIS STANDARD/LEVEL.

.

ON SATURDAY I SAW ALOT OF OLD FACES TO WHOM I ASSOCIATED WITH WHEN WATCHING RYMANS WHICH WAS NICE.

SO, NOW COMPARE ASHFORD/SLOUGH GAME AND MOLESEY/CHERTSEY GAME........ NOW COMPETITION, THE CCL GAME WAS FAR BETTER FOOTBALL AND FAR MORE ENTERTAINING AND ENJOYABLE ...........................SORRY WHITELAW..............LOL !
