If you look and think about the bids, we really had a much better case than most and deserved better than we were. Regardless of whether we won or not, we should have done better than that. Anyone watching the cricket. F**king awesome.

 

 

We didn't win the bid because we failed to grease enough corrupt FIFA palms, but at the end of the day does it really matter. Most of the construction work needed would probably have been done by Polish and other Eastern European labour, working for foreign companies. All of the replica shirts, flags, and the rest of the tatty paraphernalia would be made in Chinese or Indian sweatshops. Useless politicians and even more useless Z list celebrities would be able have a month long freebie jolly up while ordinary working class supporters would priced out by corporate sponsors and the prawn sandwich brigade who would gobble up all the tickets, leaving the rest of us to watch it on Sky, who would have almost certainly have doubled, or trebled subscription fees just before the tournament started.

 

Also, the idiots that now run our national game would have the perfect excuse to pump even more untold riches into the sewer that doubles up as the Premier League, leaving grassroots football, and non league clubs in an even more perilous state than we are now.
