Just seen on the BBC text that Gary Calder has bought Rushden and Diamonds. Not sure if Gary Hill is still manager there, but that could be the link. Third time lucky maybe for G C. after his Urchin and Weymouth experiences.

I used to have alot of time for Mr Calder but after the way we were treated after beating Weymouth away in the cup the other year,until he apologises for what must of been his decision to bar us all from going in their bar,then I have no time for him or rushden,which is a Shame as I did like the bloke

the man has a sort of anti-midas touch. everything he comes into contact with turns to sht.

 

he'll be ok though, he always is.

 

by the time he's finished, they'll have to change their name to "Rushden and" because he'll have asset-stripped the place dry.

One correction to my post. Justin Edinburgh and not Gary Hill is manager at Rushden and D. As for Gary Calder he gave his all after the 'Window Cleaner' screwed up the club up. I do have respect for him, but also agree the Weymouth incident with our fans was appalling.

Tell us more westy,to be honest you was more involved back then with tree,in urchin aid and what followed but it's a bit sketchy in my head 6 or so years later

i heard a sketchy alleged rumour which may or may not be true that mr calder and mr ewen demanded £1,100 from urchin aid for some ties which they said had been ordered, paid £100 quid for them and split the remainder of the cash between them.

 

obviously i find it very hard to believe that such an honest character with a solid reputation would have done such a thing. mr calder does seem to be the victim of a vicious sht slinging campaign, some of which has inevitably stuck.

With regards to Weymouth banning us from their Bar after we beat them,it has been brought to my attention this morning that a certain Matt Curtis instigated the Ban against Gary Calders wishes.Therefore I apologise with regards to that accusation and now class Matt Curtis as a grade A C**T

who is matt curtis? speaks volumes about mr calder's authority as chairman that he can get overruled so easily.

 

wasn't there also something about mr calder and mr hill setting up another hornchurch fc at companies house in their names with the intention of passing all assets to the new company and liquidating the old one? time plays havoc with the old memory.
