Clearing the pitch

This is the only game at home before Xmas and we really could do with getting the game on to get a bit of money through the gate/bar etc

I know the weather isn't great this week but I think Thursday is the only day where we could possibly get another bit of snow although it's not much judging by the weather reports

Probably not worth doing anything today as it's too late but I am sure that if we could get the pitch clear then the game could go ahead, especially with a few hands on deck

So who is up for it,I can pretty much do any day

I should think the path could wait till Saturday, hopefully most of the snow may of gone by then,it's ice on the slope that may be a problem. With the pitch it may be an idea to see if it thaws which it is a bit at the moment, saying that it's just started again and the temperature will go down again

Thursday is looking dodgy with regards to snow, not sure if it's worth getting some off tomorrow to then find it comes down again Thursday, saying that i think the pitch was already quite frozen, snow on it can actually unfreeze underneath by acting as an insulator

snow on the pitch once melted can also waterlog the fckr. do we need to clear some snow off the pitch?

i could probably make it there earlyish on saturday provided the roads aren't too fckd up and help shovel snow from the pitch, hill etc.

Oi Oi Urchin according to our official website we are coming to beat the living daylights out of your bunch of cloggers on Tuesday 21st December. Now if my memory serves me right that is before Christmas.

I don't think any will melt judging by the next couple of days forecast but Friday onwards it might just, which as tree has pointed out could cause a problem

Think the best thing to do is to assess the situation daily and keep an eye on the weather, with maybe pitch clearing from Thursday onwards and gritting the paths Friday and Saturday

Will speak to ken about the pitch as he knows more about pitches than I but be on standby chaps

Just spoke to ken, best thing to do is to wait and see what happens with the weather the next couple of days but the players will be training Thursday night therefore the car park will be used and we need to clear the slope as it's very slippery, don't know if anyone is about Thursday day,I will be,so perhaps we can all get a bag of grit each and get down there and start on the path Thursday day and maybe a few Thursday night to clear parts of the pitch

Too right Rob. Snow has great insulating properties provided it isn't compacted.. But can't leave it too late as no telling how many volunteers we will get and that's quite a weight of snow on the pitch by now.

I think it's best to just keep an eye on it.

Knowing the weather we will either get a blizzard Thursday or beautiful sunshine.

But judging by the forecast,Thursday afternoon to grit and clear the paths & hill and thursday night onwards to clear the pitch, culminating in saturday morning to make sure game goes ahead

yep. they had half their squad with spare footballs as they chased the equaliser, which once it went in all mysteriously disappeared.
