There, I've finally done it......

Sorry, but The Orient will be playing in Division Three South soon with gates of 2500. Regional lower divisions just a matter of time. I predict a Premier 2 then a Championship with regional divisions below. i.e North, Midlands and South. Funnily enough I quite like the idea.

You can moan all you like you poor people.

Not so long ago, you were crying out for Sky to be put in the club.

As for Orient. Crowds of 2,500 would be welcome.

Bottom 2 divisions should be seperated into St George's Flag.

4 divisions, with play off's between top 4 in each league to decide on promotion.

Enjoy Eastenders and Holby City onight you saddo's.

I am certainly not going to rush out to

Watch west ham v man utd tonight, will be watching a bit of johnny kingdom instead

As for sky in the club,I believe it is necessary because of the amount of people who watch live football unfortunately, but obviously my thoughts of having it in the club and my home differ somewhat

absolutely. why pay for something yourself when you could watch at the club or your parents for free?

and that my friends, is the real reason the chairman of the supporters club wants sky. :)

Nope,it would benefit the club somewhat.I would miss pretty much all of the Saturday games as before the match I do the 50/50 and after matches on Saturday I will be working in my forthcoming mercedes vito ferrying the good people of the surrounding areas to their evening destinations

The simple fact of the matter is that our bar is dead before games and not too busy after games and I and others are in no doubt that with live football before and after this would change somewhat

so....

1) sky sports is this corporate monster that is killing football, putting money in the pockets of the rooneys of this world and affecting the gates of lower league clubs, which is why people are cancelling their subscription or not getting one at all.

2) the club is getting sky, a public sky subscription that costs thousands per year.

correct?

Yes,it's a vicious circle

In an ideal world we can watch football and cricket on channels 1-5 but we don't live in a real world

The fact of the matter is that the bar is dead before games and not so clever after games. When we had live football on before the away fans would come early to the bar and some would stay on after.nowadays it's different.Look when billericay play us,they go straight to the yeoman before and after the games because we don't have sky,am sure canvey fans and I know some of ours do the same

what i'm getting at is that perhaps you meant to say that we don't live in an ideal world? or is this a confession of sorts that you're not on this planet most of the time which is hardly breaking news.

bideford had german or russian sky - do we know if that was legal or cheaper? we could stick radio commentary over the top?

just a bit wary about forking so much out for sky just to get canvey and ricay to stay for a few extra beers as that wouldn't really cover the cost unless the club opens midweek.

I believe that is why it hasn't been installed yet because of concerns over cost.My understanding is that a few individuals have already come forward to "sponsor" sky helping to pay towards the cost for the first year. The supporters Association have also vowed to pledge an amount if needed to help meet any costs.

I believe also that the club are looking at the legality of an Internet service which I believe some time in either November or December the club would know more about. It has been said that if sky or a legal alternative was installed then the club would open more often

No home game for a month doesn't help the coffers. I would think that the club could think of the possibilities of making the club house ( subject to relevant permissions) into more of a social club that members could use more frequently, i.e non match days.

Old biscuits, that would be my preferred route, upto 12-13 years ago it was a thriving social club with cheap beer, darts ,pool etc.Me and me old mate ingle would drink in there 2-3 times a week and many of those who went in there were just locals,it was a good place to drink. As far as I know it could do this straight away but you would need sky to compete with the local premisses like the legion clubs etc

Saying that, the club do very well from functions, maybe one way to go would be to build a new "clubhouse" as an extension to the exsisting one but this would cost alot of money

How do the pubs amanage to show live games 3 pm Saturdays? Do the have illegal means or do the pay massively to Sky?

It is a dark area,it is deemed illegal but I believe there is a test case going through against a pub in Portsmouth (I think ) who are fighting it,the case is expected to run a while and clubs and pubs are exploiting this by using this service until a ruling is made

Where's the Pool Table?

Sky would be good for the club if we used our clubhouse most nights.

I thought this was going to be an idea at one stage.

Regular Poker Nights, Pool league, Dart league etc.

Obviously staffing this would be an issue.

The last darts night was well attended, but not everyone likes darts.
