Great result, Etfc, well done, at least we haven't heard the " could have, should have, would have, if we had...., when we..., they were lucky, we were unlucky, and so on and so on, we all want the team to do well but come on guys be realistic...... There are problems that need rectifying and no-one seems to be acknowledging this. All i see is excuse after excuse......that isn't going to get etfc promotion. Problem areas always need to be tackled from the top down. Sort it out " The Board"

Fan-tastic don't quite understand the thinking behind your comments. Everyone is disappointed with our recent run of results, but most people appreciate we have a very good manager who is taking all necessary steps to put things right, including the signing of new players to strengthen the squad. The manager takes responsibility for what happens on the pitch and Steve doesn't hide behind excuses. The board can't be blamed for recent results, they engaged and quite rightly back our manager. If you are suggesting the board sort things out by sacking the manager, think that few if any Town fans would agree or support the idea.

What problem areas are you specifically talking about ??

From the sound of it it seems like the starter of this thread is probably assosiated with the management/players, rather than being a genuine supporter???

My opinion is that the fans have been very tollerant and very supportive of the managment and players during this very poor run..I can say from experiience that every other former Town manager that oversaw similar sustained dips in results got far worse criticism and analysis than Steve and his staff are currently getting.

Most clubs in this league are run on limited funds (including all the previous clubs that Steve has done well at)..The board are doing a great job in securing Steve and the club a new ground and infrastucture to enable the team to move forward and the vast majority of the fans still have faith in Steve and his players even after such a poor run or games. So i think its a bit unfair of Fan-tastic (whoever he is) to start having a go at the fans.

I suspect a parent whose son can't get in the side.

The big difference here compared with previous bad runs is that (a) the performances have not, in many people's view, been as bad as the results - with a modicum of luck we could easily have had a 50-50 record over the period - and (B) Steve has shown in the past that he has a plan and knows what he's doing.

Looks like your on your own Pal, with your opinions and views.

In fact I dont even think your an ETFC supporter and would'nt be surprised if your from the other side of the fence making mischievious/stirring comments hoping it gains momentum. I want you to come on with a thread when we've won 6 on the trot in the not too distant future.

Not having a go at the fans at all, the fans are the best thing about the club and ETFC are very fortunate to have supporters like that.

Fair assumption Tom S but no I am not "a parent whose son can't get into the side" but someone who would like to see ETFC go from strength to strength, I have a clear view being in my position.............I would like to see some variation in the make up of the team and not just players in a clique. With the new signings recently I do feel it is a step in the right direction however.

Did you go to the AGM & ask any questions of Steve or the board?

Oh so youv'e found someone else to have a scowl at then have you E U . I was thinking it was just me and Gazza you liked to jump on .

I have a question or two for you ?Why is it that people within this club with menial roles( Like you ) think their opinions outweigh those of the ordinary supporter ? I agree with some of what Fan tastic says maybe that means I'm from the other side too...... lol.

To the best of my knowledge EU is responsible for co-ordinating the running of the reserve side and does youth coaching also?? Am I correct?? If you call that menial then you have no idea what it takes to run any sort of sports club and if the likes of EU did not give their considerable time and effort then ETFC would be a lot worse off for it.

Also, 1) You've just said that you agree with some of what Fan-tastic has said, which means not many people are going to value your opinion now to be fair, 2) Where were all these critics of Steve at the AGM last week? Yes, it was all very quiet on the western front and it's a shame because Steve spoke honestly and passionately about our club - far too many hide behind this forum - I am quite happy to say that I am right behind Steve as manager of our club. 3) Jury is still out for me on a certain new addition, however much he is a very talented player, as he has been the biggest mercenary I've seen on the circuit. I hope he proves me wrong and helps us get into those playoffs.

Agree totally MST. Except I find it a privelage to give my time up for the roles I have, albeit voluntary.

Out Of T- On a serious note The issues I have with a couple of commentators on these threads (of which Gazza is not one, as he does make many good comments and your just remembering the one time we differed views with) is that a couple of you guy's can not wait for a dip in form or things to not quite go as we want them too so as to moan in a OTT manner which belies the genuine spirit which exists at the club at the moment.

Facts are yes, result wise we are the worse team in the league over the last month.

Secondly though, we are playing decent football with a depleted squad which can't find the back of the net when the opportunities beckon.

But with our winter break most welcome, players given time to recover injuries and a full strength squad to pick from,it will take a strong league to deny us at least a 5th spot this season. I appreciate this is just talk but will be proven correct once the action starts again.
