Epsom & Ewell won 3-0 at Ash today.

We played fairly well and Ash looked a bit dispirited. We were quite pleased though as Ash always give us a tough game.

A word of thanks to Ash for delaying the inspection until 12.15. Maybe Godalming, who are five minutes down the road and were postponed could learn from this excellent example of common sense.

Their game called off 10 mins earlier at 12.05pm E&E Ed. Clearly differing pitch conditions despite only 5 mins "down the road"

I rarely post on this message board but the above post made me think twice....

The pitch at Godalming was absolutely frozen solid at 9.30am and then again at 11.30am when a level 4 referee inspected the pitch and called it off. It as completely frozen solid. A later inspection would have delayed the inevitable.

If we delayed our inspection 45 mintutes it would have made no difference at all. Why would we postpone our biggest money making derby of the season? What a stupid thing to suggest,

Perhaps stupid is too strong a word glennm, but the comment wasn't an excellent example of common sense as I'm sure E&Ed will realise on reflection

Delaying an inspection at Wey Court today would have been the absolute opposite of common sense. Anyone that walked on our pitch would agree with this. I watched Camberley v Guildford today and was surpised at how their pitch held up. However, Godalming's was well and trully frozen solid. Multiple pitch inspections at various times during today would have come to the same obvious conclusion (that the ref came to!).

Sheerwater 2-3 Warlingham Division 1 Cup

Great result for Wars today considering that only 2 first team regulars were playing. Debuts to Nathan Miles and 4 other player including a promising 17 year old. The fringe players done extremely well and fully deserved the win. Must say pitch at Sheerwater played perfect. We have Bedfont Sports next Saturday followed by Hartley Wintney week later, two big games and hoping that the players come back fresh from their weekend off.

Guildford continue to march past every test put in front of them and you have to say they are looking clear favourites. Molesey are now looking 2nd favourties after their good run. Still a long way to go yet though.

Lammas 2-0 Cobham

2 great wins in 2 games for us boys!! First half we felt Cobham didnt fancy it, maybe a bit cold but we raced in to a 2 goal lead from George Baldock, with Jamie lee Smithers and Ben Jacob ripping the full backs to pieces they were creating alot of chances and it should of been more. Cobham then sent to 10 men after a late challenge on Chris Bullen which i thought was abit harsh, i thought it was just a yellow!!! second half Cobham looked more lively and come at us abit, Rideout was very quiet all game, a blonde centre midfielder come on for cobham, thought he was mustard! game ended 2-0 and another good win for us boys!! up the Lammas!!

MOLESEY 5 CHERTSEY 3 ..............AND MOLESEY EVEN MISSED A PENALTY !

WOW !!! WHAT A GAME FOR THE NEURALISTS, THIS GAME HAD EVERYTHING, GOALS, OFFSIDE CLAIMS, BOOKINGS, SENDING OFF, A REAL GOOD LOCAL DERBY BATTLE WITH NO HOLDS BARRED, IN WHAT I MUST SAY WAS THE BEST CCL MATCH I HAVE SEEN IN THE LAST 2 SEASONS SINCE WATCHING CCL GAMES.

WHITELAW, THESE 2 CLUBS ARE A CREDIT TO CCL FOOTBALL.

IN MY OPINION THESE 2 CLUBS WILL PUSH CHAMPIONS ELECT GUILDFORD (WHAT ALREADY ?) !

MOLESEY CAME OUT FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS BOSSING THE FIRST HALF WITH 2 GOALS IN THE FIRST 20 MINS. CHERTSEY REPLIED WITH A FINE DRIVE THRU' A CROWDED BOX THEN MINUTES LATER JUST BEFORE HALF TIME MOLESEY PLAYER DID EXACTLY THE SAME, TO MAKE IT 3-1 AT HALF TIME.

CHERTSEY LOOKED AS THO' THEY CHANGED THEIR SYSTEM TO 3.5.2. AND SUBSTITUED THEIR FULL BACK & CENTRE FORWARD FOR THE SECOND HALF AND THIS PLYED SOME PRESSURE ON MOLESEY WHO WERE VERY DANGEROUS ON THE COUNTER ATTACK WHICH BROUGHT THEM A PENALTY AS THE CHERTSEY DEFENDER CLIMBED ALL OVER THE MOLESEY FORWARD SO 4-1 ? NO ! BLASTED OVER THE BAR.

WITH THE GAME GOING END-TO-END ENTHRALLING THE LARGE CROWD, THE PENALTY MISS SEEMED TO INSPIRE CHERTSEY, THEN FOLLOWING A CORNER,WITH THE MOLESEY DEFENCE PUSHING UP IT WAS CLEAR THAT 2 CHERTSEY PLAYERS WERE OFFSIDE BUT APPARENTLY NOT INTERFERING WITH PLAY SO CHERTSEY PLAYER RUN ON TO STAB THE BALL PASS THE MOLESEY KEEPER. 3-2

AS MINUTES TICKED AWAY, IT SEEMED AS THOUGH MOLESEY HAVING THEIR OWN CHANCES WHICH HAD GONE BEGGING, LOOKED AS THO' MOLESEY WOUL;D GET OVER THE FINISHING LINE AS WINNERS BUT NO, A SUSPECTED PUSH BY THE CHERTSEY FORWARD ON THE MOLESEY KEEPER, BUNDLED THE BALL HOME 3-3

BUT STILL MORE TO COME ! SOON AFTER THE RE-START MOLESEY GO UP THE CHERTSEY END ONLY FOR THE MOLESEY MIDFIELD PLAYER TO STRIKE THE BALL HOME 4-3 AND STILL NOT FINISHED, AGAIN CHERTSEY CAUGHT ON THE QUICK MOLESEY COUNTER ATTACK LEAD TO MOLESEY SUB LOBBING THE KEEPER FROM OUTSIDE THE BOX 5-3 AND STILL MORE TO COME ?........NO SORRY THE FINAL WHISTLE BLEW .... BRILLIANT SPECTACLE FOR CROWD WATCHING AND OBVOUSLY APPRECIATED BY WAY OF THE APPLAUSE AFTER THE GAME, AND I AM SURE IT WAS AN EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER RIDE FOR BOTH SETS OF MANAGEMENT.

THANKS TO MOLESEY FOR THEIR HOSPITALITY, LOVELY WARM WELCOME BY THE CLUB SHOP LADY, REAL NICE PEOPLE, AND OF COURSE GOOD BEER & GRUB ! A REALLY ENJOYABLE DAY, ALL FOR JUST OVER A £10.00 ! - OH YES, WHILST MANY CLUBS APPEAR TO HAVE SUFFERED DUE TO THE FROST, A CREDIT MUST GO TO THE MOLESEY GROUNSTAFF FOR THEIR EFFORTS TO GET THE GAME ON.

A BATTLING PERFORMANCE BY CHERTSEY, AND A NEVER SAY DIE ATTITUDE FROM MOLESEY

PREMIERSHIP EAT YOUR HEART OUT, THE PLAYERS ON SHOW YESTERDAY GAVE EVERYTHING AND WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY. OH BY THE WAY, THE MOLESEY SUPPORTERS WERE THERE IN GOOD NUMBERS AS USUAL ALTHO' A LITTLE QUIETER ............LOL !

WELL DONE TO ALL,.

THANK YOU

WHATS YOUR RUN DOWN CURFEW, CHERTSEY BOY AND CHERTSEYTOWN ?

I was at the Molesey game and as a neutral have to say what a thoroughly entertaining afternoon I had, this match had everything including 8 goals,I thought the Ref did ok but made some pretty awful decisions for both teams,Molesey were gifted a pen by the Ref and missed it Then they had a player sent off then the sub came on and scored to the delight of the Molesey bench, the pitch played very well and wasn't a problem just makes me wonder why our game was called off(2nd week running) at Cobham which is not a million miles away,on this performance I can see why the Moles are doing very well they have good players in all departments and work extremely hard for each otherChertsey are a very good team as well and i still think they will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season ,

Lost 1-2 at Hanworth Villa on a very good surface.

Most people thought we were worth a draw but we started poorly and didn't quite manage to peg Villa back.

Well looked after by Villa people and a couple of decent burgers as well.:applaus:

we're going to do all we can to burst that Molesey bubble on Tuesday (weather permitting). With snow forecast, temperatures no higher than -1 i doubt it will go ahead. Remember that its not a 3pm kick off. Temperatures on Tuesday night could be -3 or -4. If it does go ahead we may need the orange ball !

have seen all teams in div 1. best footballing side HAYES GATE kept ball for fun. should have had 5/6 in 1st half, but for south park keeper who was outstanding all day. think warlingham will finish top. coffee%20%282%29.gif

Totally different side from Tuesday nights cup win as expected, could and should of been 4-4 at half time, Hayes Gates did keep the ball well and our keeper got MOM which tells the story. But saying that we played poorly and won 3-0 away, which can only be a positive against the team you think is the best footballing side.

My take on it is that if we defend like that we will win nothing. First goal was farsical defending from us and the second and third were also partially down to defensive errors. We worked hard to get ourselves back in it and looked strong only to self destruct again by giving the ball away cheaply and not defending properly. Inexperience really cost us and that sometimes happens when you have such a young squad as we have however we need to be better. All credit to Molesey that worked their hearts off and took their opportunities and deserved to win. However titles and promotions are certainly not won in November, there is a very long way to go.........

Totally agree with you there E&E

we were poor & you took full advantage of it. 2 cracking goals in the first half. Thought the game was much more even in the second half when the ground started to freeze up but you deserved to win

Nice to meet you, sorry didnt get to speak to you longer but have so many other jobs to do on matchdays

We played fairly well and Ash looked a bit dispirited. We were quite pleased though as Ash always give us a tough game.

I called off my game this morning (frozen pitch). However, the pitch right next to it was playable.

So you've protected yourself against the 0.000000000001% chance you'll get sued whilst ruining other people's day. Well done.

There are far too many games called off cos the ref's a bit soft. Don't give me all this crap about protecting players - you're just like coppers and only protecting yourselves. Conference refs have a bit more balls and allow games to go ahead when the ground's hard. Supply league and lower refs have no [censored].
