Eversley 1 Worcester Park 1

Early deflected goal conceded against the run of play. Equalised with a 2nd half penalty converted by our Egyptian striker.

Dominated long periods of the game and a mixture of poor finishing and good defending prevented us picking up the 3 points we deserved.

Frimley green 3-2 farleigh rovers farleigh 2 -0 up and coasting until a mix up in the defence gave frimley one back farleigh didn't turn up second half and a dubious penalty decided it.

Epsom & Ewell won 3-0 at Ash today.

We played fairly well and Ash looked a bit dispirited. We were quite pleased though as Ash always give us a tough game.

A word of thanks to Ash for delaying the inspection until 12.15. Maybe Godalming, who are five minutes down the road and were postponed could learn from this excellent example of common sense.

Their game called off 10 mins earlier at 12.05pm E&E Ed. Clearly differing pitch conditions despite only 5 mins "down the road"

Egham Town 4 - 3 Raynes Park Vale

We won from 1-3 down, largely because we can attack but can't defend. We were 0-1 down after 8 minutes to a fine shot on the turn by David Molsey and levelled because when John Pomroy looked at a defensive wall with two of the smallest footballers in the country in the end he just lifted the ball over them, leaving the RPV goalie Paul Brady stranded. The complete absence of any defensive organisation gifted Simon Moore a goal late in the first half, and similar ineptitude let the same man finish off a good move for a 3-1 RPV lead (61). Then we had a stroke of luck. One of the assistant referees had pulled up with a hamstring injury in the second half and our guy Paul Bennett took the flag. Early in the second half Paul himself gave way to a guy who looked about 15. Karle Andrews broke from midfield and passed to Ponmroy, who was at least a yard offside. The inexperienced lad failed to flag, Pomroy's shot barely had enough legs to make it over the line, the lad said it was a goal and ref Jim Paterson had to take his word for it. Then a handball gave Charlie Muldowney a chance for a spot kick that he banged into the roof of the net for 3-3 on 85 minutes. The winner was worth the wait. Luke Muldowney broke from the back, evading at least two tackles and then taking a return pass from Pomroy before ramming the winner in from the edge of the box on 90+1. This was thoroughly entertaining stuff. RPV looked a damn good side; today we had the luck.

I rarely post on this message board but the above post made me think twice....

The pitch at Godalming was absolutely frozen solid at 9.30am and then again at 11.30am when a level 4 referee inspected the pitch and called it off. It as completely frozen solid. A later inspection would have delayed the inevitable.

If we delayed our inspection 45 mintutes it would have made no difference at all. Why would we postpone our biggest money making derby of the season? What a stupid thing to suggest,
