AFC Hornchurch vs MFC

I hear from my Urchin friends this game off again ,as the Essex Senior Cuptie they had last night was postponed, and now will take place instead of our game. I still can't get my head around the fact that a Senior cuptie takes precedence over a league fixture, silly ruling!!

You are right though Alan, these county cup games that take preference over league games are an absolute joke and can ruin the season for some clubs,by the time you get through the odd round you could of played 3 league games, and let's face it they are hardly well supported by the fans and the teams don't always treat them as a top cup until the final is close.

I do like the idea of the county cups but not when they take preference over league games

Perhaps non league fans should look at protesting over this, maybe a petition should be looked at

It's a good move for us as we would have no home game before Xmas since mid November otherwise, not good for clubs who rely on gate money to survive.personally I would be very disappointed given our current run of form if we didn't win the game outright Saturday and given the weather situation and referees tendencies to call games off for the slightest bit of bad weather nowadays I think it's in all clubs best interests to get as many games played now when they can to avoid fixture congestion later on in the season

Spot on Rob, Jim is just being a grouch ;)

No not being a grouch by any means.

Lets look at the positives we can gain from this fixture.

1) It gets a fixture out of the way.

2) It means Pinns can play against Hendon.

Now the negatives.

1) We are a team badly out of form at the moment meeting a team that is bang in form.

2) We have arranged a friendly for Saturday so will have 2 away fixtures in 4 days.

3) When it gets postponed again the players have another week in not knowing what is happening.

4) There is no financial benefit to MFC to play this fixture.

5) How many injuries will we pick up for the Christmas period.

No to me there is nothing to be gained by playing this game next week.
