Yes, mate!!

I'll get stuck into them at the reserves game next week.

I remember once in Men Behaving Badly, Les the barman introduced an incentive scheme called 'Lager Miles'. Basically, for every packet of crisps you buy, you earn a free half-inch of lager!

Any plans for introducing such a scheme at City, Brew??

It's a good plan in theory, although the financial implications possibly explain why Les the barman was always dressed in the same stained string vest every episode...!

Some kind of loyalty scheme might be a winner though, so keep the ideas coming...

Having discussed the introduction of Sky TV with you on Saturday Brew, and having explained the various reasons why it's essential, and having written your script for your discussion with the Board, I assume that you were successful in the small role that you were required to play, i.e. presenting the idea and obtaining approval to proceed.

When is it arriving?

AFF - who exactly 'requires' me to play that role? You?

Anyway, I am in the process of arranging a meeting with a Sky representative to ascertain exact figures and logistics, if that's ok with you of course. Let me know if not.

Once this has been done, i will then take this information to 'The Board', together with your comments of course, enabling then to make an informed decision based on exact figures rather than guesstimates.

Err.. Brew. Are you having a bad day?

"Require" as in "depend upon for success or fulfillment etc."

An entirely appropriate word, in my view, as opposed to "require" as in "order or oblige" which would not be. Appropriate, I mean. Which would not be appropriate.

I hope that your day improves.

Thanks for trying to clear that up Laz. Ver helpful.

I didn't quite read it that way in the same way that he misunderstood the intent of mine, if you are right. Still. Not too much harm done, fortunately. It will pass, I suppose. Given time.

AFF - you are correct in that I could quite conceivably have misinterpreted your use of the word 'require', one of the disadvantages of the written word being that correct meaning cannot always be deciphered, however thankfully this was not the case. You didn't answer my question though, merely gave me two meanings of the word.

Anyway, you will be pleased to know that this very lunchtime I have concluded negotiations with one of Mr Murdoch's minions and have a 'Pre contract agreement' of sorts on it's way to me. I will then take this to 'The Board' for further discussion in the very near future.

Bad day? Not at all. Busy, but certainly not bad.

I heard a rumour that them b*stards at SKY charge something like 13% of your turnover to get SKY in your pub/bar!

Of course having SKY in will soon enable people to see me again on the box! It'll also show the players that i'm the most prestigious person at the club and they just stack shelves all week and play football on Saturdays and the only groupies they can get are Claire and Helen <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
