Mark Hoffman
This rumour dates back to 2008/2009 when Romford FC were crowned champions of the Essex league. Despite not having their own ground and the rules on groundsharing prohibitting a promotion Romford were promoted to the Ryman league (Much to the annoyance of Witham Town). Romford FC have had a healthy fan base for many moons, and they refused to pay their players through the late 90's and early 2000's enabling them to save up for when their time came. When Witham Town complained, quite rightly, that in previous seasons Ilford had been reprieved year after year the Romford FC promotion was put on hold. Now my mate Adam Stanheight claims there were brown envelopes passed between Romford officials and the powers that be. He is an excellent photographer and claims to have pictures which I haven't actually seen. Romford promised the Ryman league they would have a ground of their own by 2011 which hasn't materialised and Witham Town have hired the best lawyers money can buy in a bid to retake their place amongst the Ryman elite and be compensated for the 2 years they have spent in the Essex league. Now bear in mind, this is a complete rumour. There are no facts to support it. But the truth is out there. Somewhere.
missunderstood
Was that load of nonsense written before you had your medication, or afterwards? To be eligible for promotion to the Rymans League you need a minimum five year lease with the other ground-share club, which we have, there is, and never has been a stipulation that we had to be in our own ground by 2011. Insinuating that brown envelopes stuffed with cash have changed hands, suggests to me that you have been reading too many children's spy books and it might be an idea if you stuck to things more suitable for your mental age group. It was rubbish from start to finish, although I have to admit it was well written rubbish. I would think you will do very well when you take your eleven plus in the next few years. Sounds like the statement of a guilty party to me. Read into it what you will. I am just the messenger. I predict Romford will be removed from the Ryman league or face a severe points penalty. Witham Town FC have a right to feel aggrieved about this whole matter and if I were them I would certainly pursue a compensation claim.

I could not make a mid week game this week as my wife is on nights at the hospital and my little girl had rehearsals for her nativity play. This weekend I will probably go to the Grays Athletic game. I was toying with the idea of going to Tilbury but I am worried for my safety having broken the news about Romford FC.

If we see anyone at Tilbury accompanied by men in white coats we will know who you are.
Mark Hoffman
Breaking News - Apparently Romford FC officials are squirming around trying to cover this up and shut me up. Don't be surprised if there is an injunction soon that prevents me from airing the truth. Believe me, it is out there. Mark Hoffman
I feel for you guys at Witham Town. The situation is a digrace. The fans of Romford FC, the TRUE fans, wouldn't have wanted promotion under these circumstances. It's all a lie.
Agent Strahm
WA WTFC as a Witham fan worried about the vultures circling around Rob Whitnell after hitting his 18th and 19th goal of the season. Brentwood, Maldon & Tiptree and Aveley all rumoured to be taking a close look at the player who had a Ryman stint with Great Wakering last season. Rob has apparently never denied he always wanted to play in the Ryman league and was using Witham as a stepping stone. He is clearly not wearing the shirt with passion. Reports in the NLP state that Harlow (where Rhys Madden, former Witham player and very good friend of Whitnell) have failed to sign Whitnell last week. How does that make the fans feel? MH, has earlier stated about these rumours but there is no smoke without fire and Whitnell is currently on fire.

He had the stint at GWR but returned to us, i think Rob could see Ryman One North football with Witham and for that reason it would be a sideways move to go to the teams mentioned who will all be in One North again next season. If you think Rob is not wearing the Witham shirt with passion, then you havent got a clue, you can see the delight in him when he scores and involves the fans in his celebrations. The same as rumours would of been around Anton at BGU last seaason and Gayle at Stansted. Is Anton injured? Dont see him on the scoring records as much as last season. Mark Hoffman
Why don't you take a chill pill Al Pachino. I know the financial pressures at a local club of yours must be weighing on your mind but please do not vent that frustration in my direction. You may wake up with a horses head in your bed. Mark Hoffman
Compaq, read back. He says Witham will be back in the Ryman next season. I think this has something to do with the Romford FC situation.
Agent Strahm
Compaq He is insinuating that Witham will win the ESL this season with Rob Whitnell firing them to glory. Interesting.... Sure Stansted, BGU and Clapton will have something to say about that. Also he took a sly dig at Anton Stephenson, who will all know is an extremely talented player.
