TC, has grant nesbitt left sandhurst for fleet spurs?

CHOLL ACCORDING TO THE GODALMING WEBSITE, NESBITT HE HAS LEFT SANDHURST AFTER 10 YEARS TO RE-JOIN HIS OLD MANAGER UNDERWOOD.

I HAVE SEEN HIM PLAY FOR SANDHURST A FEW TIMES LAST SEASON AND IS A GOOD PLAYER, SO SHOULD BE FINE AT RYMANS LEVEL. I THINK HE'S HAD A BAD INJURY THIS SEASON ?

That's correct NICE GUY.

Grant is now a Godalming player but having got injured in only his second game of the season for Sandhurst he was then out for two months and is still trying to regain his match fitness. He has had two games for Fleet Spurs recently to help with this but played 90 mins for us on Monday at Walton Casuals and did quite well so don't think he's far away now and will do well in the Ryman league.

I think Grant has had a few opportunities to move up a level but for whatever reason did not take them. He has been with Sandhurst for over 10 years and whilst we'll miss him, there is no doubt he'll be a good player for Godalming.

CHEERS FIZZER (GOTTA CHANGE YOUR NAME NOW TO GODALMINGER.... LOL !)

GOOD LUCK IN YOUR NEW VENTURE. I AM SOMEWHAT SURPRISED THAT OTHER SANDHURST PLAYERS HAVEN'T JOINED YOU AS THERE ARE SOME I'VE SEEN THERE WHO COULD COPE WITH RYMAN LEVEL.

I THINK THERE IS A SMALL GAP BETWEEN CCL & RYMANS BUT RYMAN PLAYERS HAVE A BETTER ATTITUDE, SEEM MORE PROFESSIONAL, COMMITTED AS ARE THE CLUBS AND GROUNDS IN MY OPINION. DO YOU AGREE ?

your right NG it would be great if players in the CCL could adopt players attitude from a step above, in my opinion (which counts for feck all) a lot of the players in the CCL could possibly play in the Ryman particuarly Guildford and Chertsey players but you have to give that little more of everything and thats what some of them are not prepared to do,its all about the ugly things that players don't like doing and that means rolling up your sleeves and putting a full shift in every game.

Thanks NG.

My personal opinion is that there is a noticeable gap whenever you step up a league in terms of professionalism, quality and decision making of the players but I realise that's quite a sweeping statement to make. The difference between the top sides in Ryman One who I have seen (such as Met Police and Bognor) and the bottom sides in the CCL Prem (won't offend anyone by mentioning names!) is massive to be fair but if you look at the weaker sides in Ryman One they would struggle against the top 8 sides in the CCL Prem.

There are a number of players who could step up from CCL Prem and at the same time a variety of reasons why they don't do it........some don't want to go the extra mile in terms of professionalism, commitment to training, etc......some earn more money in the CCL........some haven't been given the opportunity.......and some are just happy where they are and choose to stay at that level which of course is their right to do so.

Godalminger (not sure I like that name!)
