STFC Youtube Is Moving

GarySTFC

Recommended Posts

I will be moving all the video footage which is seen on the site to http://www.youtube.com/user/sloughtownfc The old account (my GarySTFC one) will not be updated with any additional material. The footage, when available, will still appear on the Official Site (http://www.sloughtownfc.net) as per normal so many of you will not notice the difference, only those who are subscribed to the old channel on youtube.

Moving forwards we do look to expand this from just matchday footage into player, manager and staff interviews. I would also like to see if we can conduct a feature with Ian, Claire and Andy on their bike treks this season to futher raise the awareness of the excellent reasons they are doing the mad journeys they are doing.

However, we will need volunteers to assist us with this, so anyone who would like to help, please let me know. No experience is required and the filming equipment (a small handheld camera) will be provided for use to film the material as required.

OK, existing videos have been moved across to http://www.youtube.com/user/sloughtownfc and I am in the process of adding in just under 100 videos from games not on the previous profile from as far back as August 2003.

Anyone remember "the clap" from the Bracknell game at Windsor? That too may make an appearance! (Yes, we do have it on film, and it still makes me wonder to this day...)

Anyone with a Youtube account who subscribes to the channel will receive the notification when a new video is uploaded but these files will also be linked through http://www.sloughtownfc.net

There are some fantastic memories in there and also some footage from the Capital League games in 2003/4 at Woking and Yeading (as they were back then). Once it is on Youtube, I will add it to the list of videos on the website. These will not come up automatically on the main page, so you'll need to visit http://www.sloughtownfc.net/1011/videos/ or the new Youtube channel address http://www.youtube.com/user/sloughtownfc to see them.

Hope they bring back some good memories for you as they have done for me whilst I've been going through them all.

Please remember, we are looking for someone to help out with some video interviews with the players, staff and management of the club. If this is something you would like to do or try, please let me know either at a game or via email (secretary@sloughtownfc.net)

Not that game at Woking on Dom's birthday where we stood behind the goal with a birthday cake and a 12" cake knife?!! The things they'll let you into football grounds with!! I also recall you, Mr Thomas, getting evicted from the stand that same evening!!!!!!

Also who can forget such classic lines, such as:

"Bring it, shooooot" "Oh, Oh, Oh Yeaaaaahhhhhh" - King Tut & Martin - Ryan Spencer's GOTS at Leyton

"Shooot, somebody for Christ's Sake!" - Wilko's late goal against Salisbury to give us the Walsall tie. (My favourite Slough game and goal I've seen)

Salisbury had come right back into that game and were pressing for a winner. I was expecting defeat in a Tuesday night replay before the unlikliest of goalscorers. Wilko will always be a Rebels legend for lots of reasons and that goal is one.

Jenny's commentary will also live long in the memory! "SHOOOOOOOOT. SOMEBODY FOR CHRIST'S SAAAKE"

All 213 videos I have are now up on the site and available for viewing. We will be adding enhanced features into this section in due course to allow for searching etc. but for now, they are listed by date, newest to oldest, on the site. There is plenty of new footage on there which wasn't on the old Youtube including the Goal Of The Season compilations from 04/05 and 05/06 and footage from some of our pre-season matches also.

We are looking to expand this with player, staff and management interviews in the coming weeks/months and any help would be most appreciated. If you would like to help out, or give it a try, please let me know either on here, via email (secretary@sloughtownfc.net) or at a game.
