For a depressing view go to

http://www.fansfocus...gue-form-guide/

Have said for the last 6 weeks that we need 3 or 4 good quality players AND Stuart back ( latest ? ).

Could not get there yesterday but sounds like same old same old - just can't score.

Still no worries next 4 league game are only :-

H - Heybridge

A - Sudbury

A - Needham

A - Waltham F

It will take a fantastic run of results now to see us in the top 5 spots - but it can be done.

One goal, One win and some confidence - not much to ask for is it ?

Apart from not sticking the ball in the net, we really aren't doing too much wrong. We just seem to get punished for every single defensive mistake. Provided we don't panic, sooner or later everything will click and someone will be on the wrong end of an absolute hiding. All it needs is a goal off somebody's backside or something similar. At the moment all those breaks are going against us.

Tom

I dont agree.

There are some things that I notice as the team come onto the pitch.

1) At half time we seem to be the first ones out often by 2-3 minutes. Why is the dressing room so depressing a place. If the manager/coaches have nothing more to say at HT then Kirby has to get the players together on the pitch and speak to them, either individually, as I favour, or in a group huddle. There is nothing better for a team sport than to realise that we are all in this together.

2) In the warm ups before the game you see isolated players kicking the ball between them and always the same groups, break it up, get to know players you dont usually mix with.

3) Same coming off the pitch. Look at yesterday straggling back heads down. We were beaten by a better side that is no reason to get depressed it is a reason to get better so we dont get beaten again. Show us you're a team.

4) The players are all so grim. Enjoy it, football is a game that is fun. That is none of us enjoy getting beat but you are not beaten until the final whistle before that smile. Have a go at a shot - you wont die if you miss! We might criticise but you are better players than any of us on the side lines. Certainly better than I ever was. But at least I enjoyed my football.

This is a a relegation battle and that is not tongue in cheek - if the players dont relish that they should go - if they are up for the fight, and fight it is, then roll the sleeves up, TAKE RESPONSIBILITY throughout the game. Concentrate at throw ins, corners and dead ball situations.

Yesterday I heard a player calling to Jay at a throw in that he was covering nothing, Which was true but it would have been better to shout to Sam to watch the thrower to allow Jay to mark the player Sam was covering after all Jay was the defender. In close throw ins there are two men to mark and it takes two people to mark them!

Opposition corners everyone seems to crowd the box nobody takes responsibility of looking round and organising the defence watch players creeping up into space. Looking as to the threats of the short corner.

Dead ball situations - opponents always take a couple of kicks at the ball if it is our kick and, rightly we complain. I have rarely seen anyone booked for not retreating ten yard though the rules say they should be. Yesterday even for a Maldon free kick in our half one of their players kept dribbling the ball into the box for a good half a minute after the whistle had gone. The ref said nothing to him but it was our time he was wasting. The bench calling to their subs to "walk off" and the ref saying nothing. Why are we such good sportsmen. Their free kicks why is noone standing over the ball waiting until the ref tells him to retreat. If a player has been warned once then another player take over that duty.

Above all dont argue with the ref - leave that to us. I have rarely seen a ref change his mind and that is only after he has consulted the lino not another player.

Mr Albury,

Town fan's have never said such rubbish! ... 'A divine rights march to the conference" We all know that no team has the divine right to win anything. I predict we'll finish above Cheshunt again this season as we did last season by 30 points and the season before that when we had the worst season in our history since formation in 2001 but we still finished above Cheshunt!!

We are looking forward to the Christmas derby game and lets see who has bragging rights then..

When you talk of a demise, you mean like the demise of the once great Enfield FC, THAT NO LONGER EXISTS!! Anyway, if we ever did find ourselves in bother we could always merge with someone and ignore their name and history and then stick a sign up above the entrance to the ground that is missing the 1893....... give me a graffitti can and I will put it right for you?

Eric-You need booking into The Priory as your comments are very Gazzajitis.

And yes roll on x-mas as we are at least certain to beat Cheshunt which will kick off an unbeaten charge to the end of the season.
