Like Spoony I would only pick players I have a good personal recollection of.

LATO - Well that makes it all rather pointless then doesn't it, so presumably you wouldn't include Kazimierz Klaudiusz Górski in your all time Poland XI either

nice use of internet search engines rhodes. No I wouldn't have Gorski in my all time Polska XI...he'd be on the bench though certainly!

LATO - Not at all, I think we all became connoisseur's of Polish football after the infamous game at Wembley in 1973 and I can certainly recite that team blindfolded

Really....now there is a challenge. If I ever have the misfortune to be in the same place as you again rhodes, I will take you up on that boast...and I expect correct pronounciation. Of course we all know it will never happen just like the hat eating. Just to be clear though when you say "that team" you refer to the Poland team that played at Wembley against England in October 1973.

I see that DJ Spoony has been conspicuous by his absence on Radio Five Live's 606 show for sometime now, what a relief. Apparently Spoony is a keen golfer of quite a high standard so he should stick to that rather than a sport (football) he knows nothing about.

I was amazed that DJ Spoony was given the Sir Alex Ferguson 'gig' and allowed to interview the great man, surely BBC 5 Live Sport could have found someone far more appropriate:

Mr Rhodes, for once I find myself agreeing with you. Mr Spoony selected Jamie Carragher over Phil Neal & Jamie Redknapp over Graeme , Jan Molby & Terry McDermott. The man is a fool.

Mr Horace, would you include Taribo West from the 94 Super Eagles in your Derby team ?

Taribo's hair was very nice, but basically he was an expensive waste of money!

There are some interesting comments on this link regarding DJ Spoony's brush with the law last year where he grabbed a defenceless woman by her throat. The unnamed woman, thought to be Spoony's ex girlfriend, later complained to Police and the DJ, real name Johnathan Joseph, was taken in for questioning at Brentwood Police station, he sheepishly admitted common assault and was released with a caution:

I'm amazed that Spoony was given the Sir Alex Ferguson gig as he is a wife/girlfriend beater similar to Sir Alex's son Darren, it sends out all the wrong signals:

Reading this depressing press article, albeit from 2004, it clearly shows the kind of man DJ Spoony is and it’s hard to believe that the BBC continue to employ him. It’s obvious he likes the finer things in life and is the sort of arrogant bloke to not allow anything or anyone to stand in his way hence his arrest and subsequent charge for assaulting an ex-girlfriend, grabbing her by her throat. The couple had apparently been discussing the end of their year-long relationship after Spoony had called round to her home in Shenfield in Essex but instead of simply accepting the relationship was over and walking away he got violent which says it all:
