All points to the fact that his denmeanour, lack of explanation of his farcical decision and quick getaway afterwards , shows he wanted to be somewhere else that afternoon ! I can't imagine why ... you might have scored another worldy

OH NO, I COULDN'T BEAR ANOTHER ONE EEFC, WE WON'T STOP HEARING ABOUT IT ONE UNTIL 2020 !!!

Find this a little ironic, after the fuss made about calling games off early and me posting surely its better than turning up at the ground and it being called off!! Hope Duncs took it well

Don't try and score some sort of victory for your clubs decision from last week, for your informatioh I wasn't even there I was away in Bournemouth but from what I was told there wasn't a problem with the pitch and the game should have gone ahead,I hope this doesn't develope into some sort of personal battle because that is what you are inferring Molly, what I say on this Forum has nothing to do with the opinions of Cove FC. and that should be remembered at all times.

Its not personal, our pitch wasnt playable Tues or Sat (as the reserves got called off) same as Merstham's.....END OF. At the end of the day who doesnt want to play football?!?! The only time im not gutted a game gets called off is when im injured.

just one question then Molly, was it the same ref that called your game off ?

Duncs ....

Same ref called off games at South Park and Merstham last Tuesday .... both early in the day

Same ref again who thought that Merstham's pitch would be fit enough to play on Saturday when he inspected it mid morning

Different ref called off South Park game on Saturday and different ref again who decided that Merstham pitch was not fit enough to play on Saturday

Hope that answers your question

I know we've done this to death now but that was the problem causing the late postponement. . Footy mad seems to know the movements of the referee who did the mid morning inspection pretty well so pass on to him our appreciation of a good decision. If he could also have a word through reffing channels with the clown who followed him it would be handy because he wouldn't be capable of passing a pitch fit between October and March on Saturdays evidence.

I know I can be very sinical but something aint right here we need the CCL comitee to step in and tell us WTF is going on,one Ref says the game is on and there is no adverse weather after that decision i. e. rain, snow, frost, wind, fog or whatever and to everyones amazement the match official, who didn't do a proper pitch inspection, calls the game off, sorry Molly if I offended you but can you see where i'm coming from its a fecking merry go round.

And further to this, what will happen this Saturday?

I know snow is forecast, but until it gets here, then the pitches must be playable unless frozen off, seeing as we have had no rain recently.

However, please can someone let all refs know that just because a pitch is frozen at 9.30 in the morning doesn't mean it will be unplayable at 3pm. I've lost count of the games in recent years that were called off early on a frosty morning, only to be stuck at home watching the footy results while the entire day has been sunny and bright.

I am a firm believer in waiting as long as you can before making a decision unless it is obvious. Saturday's game really shouldn't have been called off at all at Merstham, but with an hour and a half before kick off, surely work could have been done on the (minimal) offending areas that the ref imagined saw.

I have been far afield only to find late postponements, but if there is a chance that the game will be played, surely that is better for the teams who have travelled and the clubs that have incurred programme and hospitality costs. Every now and then it is frustrating, but not half as frustrating as finding out a game is off six hours before kick off for a frost that will melt. All the refs seem to be worried about is that they think they'll get litigation if there is an injury and this mindset needs to change or we all might as well pack up for December because "it's a bit cold"

Otherwise we'll all end up with a stupid number of fixtures to play near the end and teams like Guildford who hope to go far in the Vase would find that any title aspirations would be dented by having to play three times a week in March and April. Refs must use a bit more common sense with these deliberations, and maybe should even be required to take a picture of the worst part of the pitch to submit with their confirmation of postponement.

Starting with this Saturday. The forecast is for snow from the north east of London, but unlikely to reach the south west, so Ash should be on, as should many others in that area. However, with a minus three forecast for Friday night but plus three for Saturday, please don't make the decisions too hastily.

Sorry Ed dont tell the refs tell the clubs. When a referee is called in to inspect the pitch he will make a decision on the state of the pitch there and then. So if a referee is called in at 9.30 he will decide if the pitch is playable at 9.30. If clubs call him in at 12.00 he will decide if the pitch is playable at 12.

Before we all jump on the bandwagon that is in no way a defence or a comment of anything that has happened that has been mentioned on this thread.

I think we might have examined last weeks postponement very thoroughly now and maybe prospects for tomorrow need a new thread

If you are not going to report it Duncs dont moan about it.

That is your channel to do something about it. If that channel doesnt work take it up with the league.
