snatching a draw from the jaws of victory !

A magnificent first half display which should have seen us out of sight and then......what an earth was going on in the second half ?

How can replacing Andrew Martin with yet another left back, moving John Keeling in to the middle as a striker after he had destroyed them down the wing be the answer....it would be wonderful in the cause of democracy if George Borg could let us know how that helped the cause of getting a winner rather than say bringing on Andy Finlay much earlier or Marsden back in to defence and west up front.

However, all is not gloom and doom.If we can reproduce the first half display then the future looks good. With John Martin looking increasingly good in defence,Jude outstanding and Vinny and Taff back in tandem the signs are promising.Mind you with another left back arriving does that mean yet another getting to know you act at the back.

[color:"blue"] I think you might find that the squad is being remoulded. If you read what GB had to say in an interview, he thought there were some players at the club who were not up to Premier standard. That may mean bringing in players that he want's and allowing others to go as contracts come to an end. Let's not forget that the guy has only been in charge for a handful of games and of those I would say we are unlucky not to have 4 points more than we do. Okay we played a very poor 45 mins and the boss tried something different after they'd scored. It did not work with the players and he re-organised and changed it a 2nd time. I think there will be some more getting to know you's all over and I don't think that will be a bad thing in the long term. [/color]

I agree but Jon Martin and Danny were both brought in by George and Keith Rowlands only signed this season !

I don't think it's matter of George not thinking Keith and Jon are up to it, on Jon's performance in the first half it couldn't be. It's probably about building a squad, the only worry with that is some players might feel they haven't been given a chance.

As it is i have been impressed by the side so far, but theres a worry when we perform for only one half. Consistency is imperative, it's happemed against Hendon and last night !

I Get What Your Saying Urchino

I Feel Sorry For Chris Moore Though, A Quality Centre Back Who Hasn't Even Had A Chance To Show The Boss What He's Made Off.

No Disrepect To Ollie, But I Wonder If Chris Moore Could Be Better At The Back Then He Is, Chris Ain't Afraid To Head The Ball And Put In The Challenges, But Then Again You Have Marsden Sitting On The Bench !

I Just Think That We Are Going To Lose Some Quality Players If They Don't Start Getting A Game !

I think all of us would be very shallow if we didn't feel sorry for people like Chris Moore,Adam Locke and Barry Fox who can't get a place on the bench !

I suppose the point is we can't play everyone but a bit of rotation on the bench wouldn't do much harm would it ?, to show players that they are wanted and to reinforce the obvious situation that George isn't afraid to drop players and that every player will get a chance.

Maybe it's my heart ruling the supporter in me but i would love to see Chris, Adam and Barry Fox on the bench for a match soon !

I agree with you guys about Marsden and Moore, seems very strange that they can't make the bench/team. I thought Marsden had a very good game against Kettering, a game in which I thought Ollie wasn't that good. Although, to be fair to Ollie, he had a good game against Hayes. I suppose its all swings and roundabouts (great football cliche!), but I would personally like to see Chris Moore get a run out from the bench at the very least. Suppose it could also be said for a number of our squad, Cripps, Fox, Nathan etc, that we would like to see them get a game, but I wonder if GB thinks they are up to the challenge of Premier Division football?? Tricky one....
