2 games going on at the same time

That was what it was like at the Academy ground yesterday afternoon. Plus the wind and biting cold.

The "B's" came out of their game against the Harvey grammar 2nd 11, with a 3-0 victory. 2 by the improving Reece Blaize and, 1 Sick header(his words) by Lewis Thorn. It was a game that the Ursuline team mostly controlled, a testament as to how the kids are developing. though they won again they remain 3rd in the league.

the "A" team took on Norton Knatchbull from Ashford. Ursuline playing with the wind, put Knatchbull under pressure from the start, Josh Merry going the closest in the opening minutes with a header off the bar.

Jake Rye broke the deadlock running into the box right of centre, beating 2 men in the process before putting the ball in the bottom right hand corner to make it 1-0.

Knatchbull equalised as they broke through our defence leaving Mike Dudley with little chance to give it a 1-1 scoreline.

Martin Austin took a free kick but, it was just over.

Knatchbull broke through again from a free kick, solid defending in a 4 to one situation by Johnson saw the ball go out for a corner.

Chris Uden down the left saw his ball across the box beat everyone and go out for a corner, cleared.

Arnold Murrage put one over.

Another Knatchbul breakthrough saw Dudley chase out to the edge of the area and make a diving save at the attackers feet.

2nd 1/2 saw Ursuline take the lead again through an own goal of a Chris Uden cross into the box.

Uden increased the lead again with another cross in to make it 3-1.

Ball into the box found Austin who beat a man then made it 4-1.

Finally Marcus Potter picked up a ball then ran centre left into the box to make it 5-1.

Well done to both teams. The final whistles couldn't come soon enough for everyone freezing on the touch lines. I must be getting old as I know seem to feel the cold.

The "A" team are in 4th position in the premier league.
