Ferry to Kingstonian !!!!!!

A new alternative route to Kingstonian was taken by the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Town Shop Manager of the BTSA to Kingstonian last night.

Firstly I would like to congratulate the Ryman League on how they work out the fixtures and say thank you very much. Kingstonian away on a Tuesday night and get ready for this Bedford away next Tuesday were is the sense then we go to Ford on a Saturday I ask why.

Last night the blues fought hard for a well deserved point at Kingstonian a ground which has not been very kind to us in recent seasons.

My nightmare journeys to Kingstonian continued for the 3rd season in a row last night but I keep on going back.

Firstly we heard of trouble on the A127 around the M25 junction with queues on the M25 to the Bridge so took the A13 only to get stuck with no way of getting on to the M25. No worries we decided to go on the A13 to the Blackwell Tunnel and round the South Circular to Kingstonian. All was going well until near the Docklands when we hit a queue of traffic and heard of a 5 mile tail back for the Tunnel. So another new plan we need to get over the water so how better way take the ferry so we crossed over on the FREE Woolwich Ferry (a saving of £1). Then got stuck in traffic on the South Circular and pulled into Kingsmeadow at 8.40pm yes over 3 hours from the time we left home to see the second half.

At least we got into the ground FREE.

I think I will book a holiday next time we go to Kingstonian.

I am sure that we will not hear the end of this story !!!!!!

This reminds me of the first time I saw Billericay, back in november 1997. The day before 'Ricay played, on a friday, I was going to Oxford to see my other english team play, QPR.

Took a train from Paddington which would give me a couple of hours to stroll in Inspector Morse's home ground, but after just 15 minutes, the train stopped and stood still for almost two hours because an accident on the track.

When I arrived at Oxford, I took a cab to the ground, and got in free with just 10 minutes left of the first half. And I had to stay at the home supporters end of the ground, as the away end was closed.

Watched QPR loose 1-4...

Well, well, the following saturday was better!

:-))
