So frustrating on many levels. Just as we switch to 4-4-2. I still favour this system as it produces better football. Hopefully last night's pathetic effort hasn't worried Iain into changing back to the restrictive wing back system.

As for line-up. Osborne has to get the nod at left back still. Dean Hill would be nice but budget only goes so far. Curtis isn't the answer in that position.

The problem last night was that in the first half (when the damage was done) the midfield was offering no protection to the defence. Their guys were running at our back line and I think they got a bit 'spooked'. In retrospect I think Jay should have started the game. The selection was probably actually too positive, Rogers and Wilson are usually looking to create rather than frustrate and we needed someone just to stop the other team playing. If Jay and Shaun Welford had started then we would have won - SW looked sharp as a tack when he came on in the second half.

appreciate iain did not want to drop anybody after Saturday's performance but you have to play your strongest team - welford and saunders. Positives from last night was welford came on and got 45 minutes under his belt. Contrary to earlier comments on forum I think a 3 5 2 formation would have been tighter in what were poor conditions - constant drizzle and slippy conditions. First 5 goals in match all errors from defences - I lost track of croydon's final two - i think they got us on the break. Our third was well worked. Worst performance for many a while. When did our team last ship 5 goals in a league match. If I had not been there I would not have believed it! At least it was only 8 quid to get in!

They tell me you should always look for the positives--load of rubbish in my opinion as its normally people trying to hide things and look for excuses and be in denial.Just be honest and realistic.

However-to keep all those bunnies happy who rant on about being positive-at least we did not lose to one of our peer teams so it was just three points lost as opposed to arguably 6.

Better losing to croydon than the likes of wealdstone.

I guess if we got 3 points from wealdstone-up next away - most would be happy -or 4 points from croydon and wealdstone -so maybe it could be just one point lost.
