Windsor v Hemel

Wow - Great Stuff!

With the way the weather has been all day, I didn''t expect the game to go ahead. My brother and I were all set to go and but decided against it at the last minute, as we didn't expect there to be a match this evening and were not looking foward to travelling on the M25 in thick fog.

Well done to all those who've travelled up this evening, and hopefully yours and the team's efforts will be rewarded. We need all the points we can get with the spectre of administration and the mandatory 10 point deduction looming on the horizon.

No Chenns tonight i believe he was playing for Crawley reserves again!

Chennels played up front for you at Hemel tonight, but was quiet by his standards.

Windsor were by far the better side for the first 75 minutes (Hemel very poor) - then collapsed at the back to concede two inside a couple of minutes.

Definately two points dropped by Windsor rather than one gained.

I thought Hemel started the stronger but lacked any penetration up front and Windsor hit on the break to go one up and then dominated and deserved the second. Windsor then seemed to be in total control of the gam until Hemel scored and then fell apart. I would say we deserved the 3 poijts but then hemel scored as many as we did and that is all that matters ultimately. I didn't hink I would get to say this at the start of teh season but these are more points dropped away at top sides, if we could hold onto a lead (Chippenham, Banbury, hemel) then we would hav been confortable mi tabe by xmas and possibly looking at top 6 or 7.

Chatted with butts before the game(seems happy there) and a few of their fans after the game and they were thoroughly nice chaps. I do wonder however if hemel are happy with the disgraceful fans that stand behind their own keeper hurling vile abuse at just about anyone. A delightful bunch of youths that could only be described as the foul underbelly of society, calling everyone an effing see you next Tuesday, and thowing personal and disgraceful abuse for the full 90 minutes. The gobbing at us was particularly unpleasant and the lack of any club control over it was disappointing. This was not fun banter but repetitive verbal diarrhoea, good to see that one of those indulging was in fact a club steward(from the dayglo bib with Steward written on the back). I most certainly would not take my 6 year old daughter to this ground if the opportunity arose and would advise others not take young children as well. Compare this to Brackly who had loads of youths running about, and despite being beaten were welcoming and well behaved.

Would love to hear a hemel view on this as i am sure it is not the club image they are trying to promote.

As for the game, not a fantastic game to watch, few chances really, very cold night, officals were poor (both ways) but another point on our travels. A break Saturday and then cup action Tuesday, all jolly good fun what!!!!

Probably due to the fact it was a County Cup tie and would have meant he couldn't play against Burnham. Some silly rule that if you play in one County Cup (Middlesex) you can't play in another (Berks & Bucks).

Firstly, on behalf of the committee of HHTFC, we would like to apologise for the behaviour of a small minority of ‘fans’ on Tuesday night. We have since spoken with several people to establish who they are, and will be making further enquiries in order to identify the persons involved. We believe the group may have entered the ground through means other than the gate and will be speaking to our ball boys to get further information. Furthermore, the youth wearing the steward’s bib was in fact one of the ball boys who will be spoken to with regard to our investigation.

You are correct in your assumption that this is not the image which we are trying to portray, and this behaviour will not be tolerated at the club. As an FA Charter Development club with 22 youth teams, we pride ourselves on being a friendly, family orientated club.

So far as we know, a matter regarding the use of foul language (seating area, far side) was reported by a couple from W&E to our club steward at half time in the clubhouse. Some youths were spoken to but denied any knowledge of the matter. Our club steward offered to walk the couple back to the seating area to find the youths involved but they declined, instead opting to go behind the goal for the second half (which was unfortunate given the circumstance).

At no time, however, did this couple mention being sworn or spat at, rather that they (the youths) were swearing amongst themselves.

We do try and marshal these games as best we can with the limited resources we have, but as you can appreciate in these difficult financial times, it is one of those areas where we have to rely on volunteers to steward the ground as we cannot afford to pay for these positions. We are in regular communication with our local volunteer services in a continuous attempt to garner further volunteers.

Again, please accept our sincerest apologies from everyone at the club. We hope it does not deter you from returning to Vauxhall Road in the future.
