the trouble is Molly11 people are starting to get a little suspicious about all these games being called off,who am I to argue with a Refs decision but come on 8 hours before a ball was due to be kicked hmm.

Ok you got us, i'll own up we had 64 first teamers out and didnt know what to do, do we play all the Dads? or get the game called off early to really annoy everyone. The Dads said they wouldnt wear shinpads so the Ref had to call it off. I had to come clean it was killing me.

Why are you being so sarcastic, have I hit a nerve or something?

It is one of the damned if you do and damned if you dont situations. If South Park had got a ref in at 4.30 and called it off there would of been moans about doing it too late. The use of local referees can help as they tend to know their local pitches quite well. If you take Cove and Camberley. If Cove's pitch is waterlogged at 9am there is a good chance it will be still at 3 whereas Camberley could well dry out. Not a go at Cove that is just how the respective pitches drain. So if Cove call a game off at 9 in the morning waterlogged I would not be at all suspicious but if Camberley did then I would be !!!

South Park did what they thought was best. Be interesting what they do next time !

In an ideal world we would have liked to have had the pitch inspection later in the day (mid afternoon), however due to the unavailability of referees yesterday to inspect our pitch we had to go for the ealier inspection so that the referee concerned could carry out the inspection. As Footy mad said in an earlier post this referee was unavailable later in the day. The league does have guidelines in place and inspections can only be carried out on the day of the game.

Look out Tempestward is having a pop at another club :)

I hear that Egham's pitch has improved beyond recognition. Fair play to the people who put the effort in there. I have always thought the standard of pitch should be part of the Ground Grading for promotion.
