CWUFC - Fixtures Update

There will be a 9am pitch inspection on Wednesday morning to see if the FA Vase 2nd round tie v Witney United can go ahead.

If the match is postponed, it will then take place at The Arena, Croydon FC on Saturday 20th November 2010 with a 3pm kick off.

 

The league match at Wibbandune v Badshot Lea on Saturday will be re-arranged.

 

It looks likely that the Surrey Senior Cup 2nd round tie against AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday 24th November will be switched to Kingsmeadow. More on this shortly.

 

The club are now seeking funding to improve the drainage and playing surface at Wibbandune in time for the 2010/11 season and will be applying to the Football Foundation amongst other organisations for assistance in this matter.

Good luck with your funding :) & with the FA Vase tie when it goes ahead.

 

It is a recurring theme at CWUFC and I think the committee are now at the end of their tether re the pitch.

We put together teams that like to play on the deck (1sts, Reserves and under 18's) and our own ground is hindering our chances of success.

I just wish I could win the lottery (big money) and set up a trust to help as CWUFC and as many clubs as possible clubs re ground and pitch improvements.

It is a long winded process accessing funding (I have done a lot of this, succesfully, re Sutton Cricket Club) but the club are confident that they can raise sufficient monies themselves to, at least, get the Surrey FA and The FA to open up some dialogue and move forward.

 

It is not looking good for tomorrow and there is more rain on the way!

Shame though, as was looking forward to first visit to Wibbandune.

Vase game confirmed for Saturday at Croydon FC.

Still waiting on AFCW (probably know more after their FA Cup replay tomorrow).

 

The Surrey Senior Cup tie v AFC Wimbledon, scheduled for 24th November has been postponed.

New date to follow.

Date for SSC tie v AFC Wimbledon is now Thursday 20th January at Wibbandune kick off 7.30pm.

Please note there is no spectator car parking available at the ground.

Please park in side roads on opposite side of A3 (northbound) and use footbridge to the ground.
