Yes Well done indeed. Something to smile about at last. This result is better than it looks on paper, since NGU have been a team on form this last few months conceding very few goals and keeping a number of clean sheets. 3 goals on their ground is a good achievement. It's a shame we failed to keep a clean sheet again but I must confess I was a bit worried about Dom. I always rated him but with keepers its about form and confidence and in his last two games for Farnborough (one league one cup) he conceded 10 goals so I wasnt sure about him but he seemed to cope ok. Now we should be able to pick up 3 points on Tuesday and kick-start this campaign. Other local results today Burnham 6-1 Atherstone Beaconsfield 3-1 Bedworth ( Craig O'Connor on the scoresheet)

I thought Simon Martin made a huge difference today and deserved MOM. He held the ball up well and did a good job winning aerial battles, something we've missing up front for some time.

Swift makes a big difference when he's playing out wide on the left - I'd like to see him out there more often. Having Herron back will help a lot if he's fully fit as Swift can drift into the middle. We looked dangerous when whipping balls in from the flanks or the byline, so I hope this continues.

Also, Ben Abbey deserved his goal and I was glad to see Danny Murphy keep his head up after missing the penalty, and redeem himself by whipping in the cross from which Martin scored.

All in all, a very good response after an awful recent run, and let's hope we can keep it up against AFC Hayes and start an unbeaten run. Tuesday is another game we really should win - today's result will count for very little if we don't.

A good TEAM performance, everybody getting stuck in, chasing balls down, putting tackles in, and not getting involved with Greenfords niggles and stupidity.

MOTM was Simon Martin, a great performance chasing and challenging and then following up on balls. His hight up front made use of the high ball and having Ben Abbey making the runs with him there was an outlet.

This is why I follow Slough and this makes it enjoyable.

As for the Greenford crowd (both of them), I think it was a bit of a shock as the old codger in the stand started moaning that he could not see, usually he is on his own and has a clear view.

The other fan, Greenfords contribution to care in the community, started to shout about wanting to go back to his hospital.

How do these 2 fans and a dog clubs survive?

Thoroughly professional performance today. You could tell the team were hurting by recent results and the celebrations for the goals involved everyone today which shows a good team spirit which was good to see. Totally deserved the win today but still need to continue this form starting Tuesday.

Agree with Matt on Simon Martin, awesome today and probably his best game by far in a Slough shirt. He undoubtedly has the ability as he's played at a much higher level than this, but often looks like he lacks belief and confidence it seems. Hopefully today will kick-start his season.

Midfield looked back to it's best today. Once crunching tackle from Logie today reminded me of what we were missing Tuesday. Pleased Herron's back as I always thought he was a good player and was a bit suprised we let him leave in the first place as if Sincs or Swift get injured at the start of the season we had no natural replacements like we did last year with Mo and Tyron. Certainally gives us more options in the starting X1.

And of course we have the DJZ moment of taking on two opposition players by the half way line second-half - he's not changed then!!! ;-)

Just one thing off topic over the last 6 months I wonder how many penalties we've missed, quite a few I recon. Off the top of my head remember Buchannan, Martin, Swift, Murphy all missing either this season, or late last season.

Agreed with all of the above. A performance which showed the talent we have in the team. Everything seemed to work much better, we kept the ball on the floor, passed it around, didn't panic and took our chances.

Simon Martin probably had his best game for us, he linked very well with Abbey and the players around him, he also looked very confident in taking on players with the ball. It was good to see Herron back, but a little concerned about the 2 or 3 players that picked up knocks.

Same again Tuesday would be good, preferably without the goal conceded. AFC Hayes have not picked up anything away from home in the league this season so we do not want to be the first ones. Games like today will hopefully only help to build the confidence of the whole squad. Well done lads!

Come on you Rebels!!

well done lads just got me a bit worried after we conceded then missed the penalty, but you came through , as i have said before as long as we keep the ball down we will overcome most of our opposistion in this division. perkins played better today but i don't think his style suits our team at the moment, i think yiadom is a more stable player. so playing the ball on the deck we seem to have cottoned on to, now to improve more we have to get closer to the opposistion and give them the absolute minimum time on the ball, we need to force them to play the ball before they want to, or take it off of them, combining both styles will improve us immessurably. now for afc, see you all tuesday

Yes we have to be very confident about Tuesday. As others have pointed out their away record is truly dreadful P7 W0 D0 L7 For 7 against 24 I think a second good win can put back a lot of the lost confidence of recent weeks. There was evidence of that this afternoon.

overall great team performance. we looked like a team at last and not just a bunch of players who happened to be wearing the same kit.

great to see our heads not drop first after going 1-0 down early on from a sensational strike and then after Murphy dragged his penalty wide (though not sure it was a pen). fair play to Murphy who straight away whipped in a beat of a cross that set up the equaliser.

thought midfield was much more discipline and organised yesterday and the main reason for this is Adam Logie. he was constantly marshaling the midfield and attack making sure no one would shrug their responsibilities at any point

as also mentioned the partnership of Abbey and Simon Martin looked potentially brilliant. yes it was only one game but they both seemed to be fully on the same page and both fully deserved goals. right up there as one of Simon Martin's best games for us. full credit to him as he is often not a starter and gets lots of stick (quite why i dont know) yet you can never doubt his commitment and effort levels. how he ever going to be really confident if he knows any mistake will be blown out of proportion by some idiots in the crowd

on a different note - shame that after such a positive display we have little too talk about yet negativity runs wild after bad displays. people who are quick to slate the team should be just as quick to praise the team surely?

Agree with all comments here. We looked much better and well up for it. More of the same tuesday and then we are right back in the playoff hunt.

Martin and abbey did look quality also and if sincs knock was as bad as it seemed I'd play sonner on the right and keep abbey and martin up top

After going a goal down and missing a penalty the response from the players on Saturday was superb.

Also, seeing the re-action of the players after scoring I think we can put to bed the nonsence that has been spoken about the players not giving 100% and not caring if they win or lose.

Must say our support in the second half, under the covered end, was excellent which I'm sure was appreciated by the players.

It was nice to celebrate a win for a change. I agree with the comments that the attitude of the players had drastically improved from last Tuesday. It was good to see that when we when a goal down, we didn't just capitulate like we did against Chippenham, Rugby and Burnham.

I still maintain however, that serious work needs to be done to improve the squad before we can challange for promotion. Lets not let a 3-1 win against a side who obviously weren't that good (how many chances did they have? We should have been 2-0 by the time we had the penalty - its a good thing the Greenford forwards couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo!) lull us into a false sense of security.

Mark . Have to agree with you NGU are a good team with an excellent defence 2 goals conceded and 4 clean sheets in last 6 league games including a comfortable victory against Arlesley. Their problem is lack of goals . When Saturdays game kicked off they were ahead of us in the table with more points from fewer games so lets not talk down the Rebels achievement, this was a very good performance.
