Reading Town 1-0 Warlingham

Wars never turned up first half and I take blame for probably playing to cautious. Reading had best of first half and a very good save fro Wars keeper Cootes kept scores level. 0-0 at half time and in with a shout. We came out second half stronger and pushed but had really no decent chances. Reading was well organised and quick on break saying that I thought my centre half James Cecil was man of match. Reading scored on 65 mins after some good work out wide. They then went down to 10 with a double booking and only then did we fell we could get something. Wars pressed Brunty came off bench and calmed us down and had a decent effort and we had one cleared of line but that was it. To be honest we was'nt quite good enough all over the park and we had a few players that didnt turn up in their normal games. Good luck to Reading some decent banter on side and a very hospitable club. Gutted for my players and as I said probably Im to blame. Look forward to Molesey Tuesday night at home in premier cup.....Winners play Guildford!!!!

Another defeat, but not down to a lack of effort. Chessington got an early goal which was well taken & held on till halftime. 2nd half we dominated & levelled midway into the half. Then with 3mins to go a mistake by the assistant saw us go behind, we also lost our discipline & saw another player have an early bath which wont help in future games. Still cant believe we've lost this game but that's football for you

Hi TRS your right on both counts thier keeper opened the scoring from the spot with an exellent spot kick,if our keeper had got anywhere near it he would have gone in the net with it,JJ equalised after a flowing move saw him finish crisply from 10 yds after Noadey set him up,we added 2 more in the 2nd half through Bimal Balal and the prolific Tom Mcgarry,Dorking played very well and will probably feel they deserved something from the game.Dorking were reduced to 10 men after one of thier players was sent off for retaliation after a mistimed tackle from Noadey this sparked a mass brawl among the players and noadey got a yellow card.

Maybe I can help with that TRS, as I was unable to get the coach to Hearne Bay I went to Cove to watch an entertaining game, with Dorking taking the lead from a penalty well taken by their keeper. however Cove equalised through Johnno a well worked goal. After playing the role of ball boy a couple of times the lino flagged me offside because as I was in line there was no way Steve Duff was offside. The second half started well for Cove with a very good move which saw a goal from Tom Mc Garry give them a well deserved lead. Another goal from the Cove sub finished the scoring apart from a bit of handbagging and a sending off for a Dorking midfielder. Altogether an enjoyable afternoon clubhouse staff very friendly.

Started up front Saturday as we're short in the striker position. My goal was a worldy but more based on the 5 pass move that created the chance rather than the strike.

Dorking were awarded a very soft pen 10 mins in from a ref on this forum. Keeper came up to slot it past the Cove keeper. 0-1

After that Cove never took their foot off the gas and had 1 or 2 chances 1st half but finding the Dorking keeper in good form. A slick 5 pass move started by yours truely ended with Noady laying a cross from Duff in to the path of johnno who made no mistake from 14 yds. 1-1

2nd half was all Cove. Dorking played a very high line on many occasions 1st half with the young assistant often raising his flag too soon. The more experienced linesman was our attacking side second half and wothin minutes he was making [****!!****] ups of his own by flagging too soon. Duff held his run as he was off side but i came steaming down the line to collect the ball from an onside position only for the ref and lino to pull it up when i was clearly on side and duff was not interfering. Cue duncs going mad!!

Only 5 mins later the same scenario happened but this time the flag stayed down. I got behind the back four and crossed (Bale like) in to our right back, Tommy Mcgarry who slid home for 2-1. A cove player then told me that i was 2 yds off side!

Then came the sending off!!

The ref to be fair let a lot of niggly challenges and fouls go but this was to be his undoing. Noady was dribbling the ball thru the midfield. A couple of taps of the ankle followed by a challenge from behind was not blown for, and when a challenge from in front came, Noady dived in to try to keep the ball. A lunge it def seemed by me but the reaction of the player who had challenged him from behind was uncalled for. He kicked Noady while Noady was still on the floor and then in came all the players to sort it out handbags style! 1 player grabbed me by the throat only to realise it was our own right back!!

Handbags continued for a while until order was restored. Ref sent off the dorking player and then booked Noady for the lunge! Right decision i feel. Ref actually admitted if he had blown seconds earlier for the foul on Noady, we could have avoided all the stupid stuff.

Cove then naturally dominated and scored soon after to seal the win. 3-1 More chances followed but the keeper was in good form!

If Dorking continue playing as they played us, they will escape the dredded drop!

Cove back to winning ways at last!!

Johnno 'Torres' Johnston signing off!

Thanks Flint700. Can't help thinking of bacon cheeseburgers when Cove is mentioned, nearly swayed it for me yesterday but the Vase doesn't come round too often. :cheeburga:

Dorking are more than capable of an upset TRS, they are not a bad side and like nearly all the teams in this league, this season, they could beat anyone on the day,Flint700 I think I know who you are now,you got the ball more than JJ in the first half

Harsh Dunc's harsh!

Michael Owen only touched the ball a few times in a game but when he did it was magical!

Just like my cameo up front yesterday!

1 game up front, 1 goal, 1 assist, i thank you!!

South Park 5-2 Cobham

Strange day for both teams keepers, Park had there 1st team keeper suspended and stand in out injured and with the management not feeling the youth team keeper was quite ready, we put are centre half in goal. As for Cobham, we were happy to see "Jurgs" on the bench. Both side looking to test both keepers early was the shout from both benches!!

Fast and furious start saw chances for both sides, Park then took control winning lot of ball in the middle of the park and took the lead from a quick throw and Parker turned his marker and slotted home. This shook Cobham and moments later a poor clearance fell to Lavery 35 yards out and hit it straight back into the empty net, things got better for Park 5 minutes later when Wickens danced through the Cobham defence and cooley passed the ball into the net. 3 nil up game over!?! Nope this seemed to spur Cobham on and started to create so good chances one fell the Rideout who shot took a deflection and flew into the top corner. Park added a 4th straight away when a deep free kick was met by Lavery / Defender dubious goal panel needed. Cobham then dominated for the final 15 minute of the first half and got there reward from some good work from the other lively striker in guessing in the name (Baxter). 4-2 up in a very eventful half ending in some handbags.

Second half was more pleasing for us, we defended much better and grinded out the win and added a fifth after a penalty decision was waved away, ball ran to the keeper who didnt fancy it and Lavery challenged him and the ball rolled to Stone who knocked it into the empty net.

Over to you Jurgs what was your views?

Wasn't at the game but from what i heard was very ill tempered game. Also told that we probably got beaten by the league champions but only time will tell. rideout still banging them in and wayne too so at least strikers are getting goals but another -3 for the goal difference isn't great.

Johnno, in the absence of BJR (where is he?) can we have your account of the Dorking game?

I see McBride (the keeper) scored a penalty and you scored also. Hope it wasn't another worldy I missed!

HI TUCKS, SAW THE VIDEO OF YOUR GAME YESTERDAY, FROM THE ''FOOTAGE ONLY'' A FEW MINUTES, IT LOOKS AS THO' READING HAD MORE OPPORTUNITIES/CHANCES TO WIN THE GAME AS THEY DID. SHAME REALLY AS IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD TO SEE A CCL TEAM THRU' TO THE NEXT ROUND. I DO LIKE YOUR HONESTY IN YOUR REPORT THAT READING DESERVED THE WIN. JUST WAITING FOR BRUNTYS EXCUSE IT WAS THE REFS FAULT ETC., ETC., LOL !!!

SO TUCKS, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR CHANCES ARE AGAINST CCL PREM MOLESEY ON TUESDAY IN THE LEAGUE CUP ? AND WHATS THE CHANCES OF THE GAME BEING ON (MAYBE A BIT TOO EARLY TO TELL) ? I SEE WHYTELEAFE PLAYED ON IT YESTERDAY.

Game should definitely be on nice guy. Our chances are decent but we are up against the in form premier side. We need to be more creative than yesterday and press alot more from the start. I did forget to mention in my report that reading should have had a nan sent off after 5 mins for kicking out at our striker. When i asked the referee at half time why only a yellow he said it was wreckless timing! Very pleased with Brunty when he came on its a shame he is cup tied tuesday. Expect a better showing from my boys on tuesday so hopefuly will be a good game.

Eversley 1 Bedfont Sports 2

Quite a decent game. Bedfont are a good side and I'd expect them to be challenging at the end of the season.

Very impressed by Adam Turner, Tommy Hedges and the two centre halfs.

Thought the ref frustrated both sides without really having too much of an effect on the game.

A good quality game for the nuetral with Eversley dominating possession but the cutting edge belonged to a very impressive Bedfont Sports. An early away goal gave the visitors the platform to frustrate us with an excellent defensive performance right through their side. Bedfont coped comfortably to restrict our chances and heard this is the 1st time the two centre halves have played together this season. IMO that bodes very well for them for the future. Offensively Bedfont have both strength and pace and they are comfortably the most dangerous side we have played this season with our keeper pulling off 3 great saves. Not sure whether this is true but was advised they 'rested' 5 players from their midweek defeat at Farnham in the cup so it seems to be the league is rightly their priority.

Good luck to BS for the rset of the season - On todays performanceI think whoever finishes above BS will win this division.

that is the best we have played under gav and stu,yes it was true that we made 5 changes on tuesday but still wanted to win the game and should of won it.

on sat we had gav missing for the birth of his baby and 2 centre halfs missing so we put the centre forward at centre half and adam turner came back into the side after missing the last month, the left and right backs played there first games of the season and jack had is first start in the middle of the park.

in the first half it took us 10 min to get into the game and then we scored and i think that we should have killed the game off with your keeper making 3 very good saves and all you had was about 4 long range shots and alot of the ball without hurting us

2nd half we came out and again you keeper made about 3 good saves.great bit of play from cookie micky p led to turner putting us 2 up game over you would think but your little subs movement started to pull us around abit and gave more to think about then when Baker was on the pitch.the first thing john had to do in goal was to pick the ball out the net.

made the last 5 mins a bit hard but see it out for a great win,not many teams will go to Eversley this season and get anything

Still a long way to go but still good to be top

Over to you Jurgs what was your views?

Yeah unfortunately my hamstring didn't pass the pre-match fitness test, so I was just named as a sub in case of emergencies (I was one of 5 missing from last weeks starting line up - I don't think we have only put out the same 11 for 2 games in a row at all this season)!

Would say that is a pretty accurate account of the first half (started off even then felt you got a good grip on the game before we came back at the end of the half) and felt that both teams looked like scoring each time they attacked, although we did gift you 3 of the 4 with either woeful keeping or defending. But you took your chances and we didn't and that's what wins you games.

A couple of big turning points for me were the 2 good chances we missed at the end of the first half which would have made it 4-3 at h/t and also when we too had a chance from distance after a poor clearance from the GK only for ours to strike the post (again this would have made it 4-3).

Second half seemed much more even although it was niggly at times and felt the officials didn't really keep on top of things (you have a No of players who like to dish it out but don't half moan when on the receiving end....the No 2 being the prime example). Your 5th was a poor decision from the officals IMO and your 10 honestly admitted to the bench that our GK did have both hands on the ball when he slid in to challenge him as the ball was there to be won, so we weren't happy.

At the end of that day SP were the better side and deserved the win, but just felt the scoreline looks a little too one sided. IMO any team that finishes above them will def be in the promotion places, if not champions!!!
