Review from Horsham website

John Maggs is hoping to secure the loan signing of Reading youngster Michael Hector ahead of Saturday's Ryman League Premier Division clash with Billericay Town. The young centre-back is expected to join the Hornets on a month long agreement and will provide cover for the injured Jahmahl King.

"I had a look at him against Fulham Reserves on Tuesday afternoon and hope to have the deal tied up this afternoon (Thursday)," said Maggs. "He'll be a good one to have on board because Jahmahl is struggling, Jack's not fully recovered from his head injury, Mark Knee is suspended for Saturday and (Tuesday's) game at Tooting was probably a one-off for Tommy (Graves). Looking ahead, Ben and Anthony will be suspended for the Maidstone game so we needed to bring a bit of extra quality in during this period."

Maggs has also drafted in ex-Hornet Lee Carey from Lewes to bolster his modest squad. Carey's last appearance in an amber and green shirt was, ironically, against Lewes in a Sussex Senior Cup tie 21 months ago before leaving to rejoin former side Hastings United. "I need to get the numbers up," admitted Maggs. "We know what Lee's capabilities are and his experience will help us out as well."

Carey may well find himself thrown straight in to the starting XI with Adam Hutchings (back) and Tony Nwachukwu (swollen knee) both unlikely to be fit for the visit of the division's form side. Billericay have lost just once in 11 matches in all competitions and strengthened their 4th place with Tuesday's 2-1 success over Concord Rangers, the goals coming courtesy of debutant James Lawson.

The Blues were also 2-1 winners when Horsham travelled to New Lodge at the beginning of October so the Hornets have an early opportunity of gaining revenge. However, the omens are not good for Maggs' men who have failed to score a home goal against the Essex club since 2006.
