Billericay win again

Still not sure why we let them play the first 20 min's as if they were something special.

Once they scored it actually worked in our favour for a change.

So often a team that wins says the officials had a great game, Sorry to say that these guys should be a few leagues lower they were cr@p from start to finish and had they not been so biased we could have run away with a lot more goals.

Not sure how many of the concord supporters made it off of CANVEY tonight but the 3 behind the goal were great, at one point i thought i heard a cheer but it was an Echo from JC_Nonleague.

Man of the match for me should obviously Lawson But our manager is (for me) the cream of the crop.

That win last night was a major boost i feel . It cements a top five position and the confidence must be growing around the team . Very early days but it has been a while since we have anything to crow about so why not eh ?!?

Lawson had a very impressive debut , but for me i really think Bertie Brayley is making such a difference to our front line. Always willing to run and always looking for a good position. But it is a team game and they all put in a shift imo . Morgans save in the secondhalf was one that he probably knew little about but he was in the right place and that alone won us the 3 points so well done to him .

But , a little shout out to Craig and the management. They really wanted that win last night and i am pleased for them as they are going about their jobs in a calm composed way and we are benefiting by "quietly" slipping into the top five .

After missing a number of games i thought i was going to be the bearer of bad tidings when Concord scored , but the team look far more "aggressive" in their attitude and there is far more desire than of recent seasons.

My only worry last night was that we seemed to sit deeper toward the last 10 minutes which i was a little surprised at as we had quite a strong breeze with us and looked more comfortable on the front foot .

Anyway , well done to everyone as that does at last buries the Concord hoodoo !!!

I didn't think the officials were that bad to be honest...and you have to consider that it was the linesman who spotted that the ball had crossed the line thus giving us the 2nd goal. We've had worse. True the ref was a little inconsistant but no worse than what we had...even the Concord bench thought that the officials had a fair game.

Another win for the Blues and not a bad game either...I (as were a couple of us) were thinking that it'll be a bit more "tasty" out on the pitch but it never got above "niggle". I thought we were good for a win but Concord bossed the midfield in the second half and pegged us back...and it was during that period where they deserved something but Craig did the right thing, brought Cedric on and we started to push on 'til the end of the game.

5 consecutive games won in all competitions...a decent win last night, so well done to the lads and onwards to Horsham...if the game is on (and looking at the weather forecast for tomorrow until Saturday, you have to wonder...unless, we experience the same mud bath of last season).

Berties work rate is fantastic; never gives up on anything & is inspirational to the rest of the team. I'd say his presence in the squad is a major contributory factor to the new found desire & belief that's being displayed.

As has been stated, credit to the management for orchestrating the turn-around. When you look at some of the players who've moved on of their own accord over the past few weeks you might expect us to be moving in the opposite direction. It just underlines the fact it's a team game and getting the team working is far more important than individuals.

Overall I thought it was a deserved win, although we were slow out of the blocks and it took conceding a somewhat fluke goal to wake us up. After that we looked bright and solid but it did take an excellent save from Morgan in the second half to protect the points.

Lawson's first goal was an excellent finish and fortunately for the second the linesman was awake and in the right position.

I agree Brayley looked sharp again and his workrate is a big factor in the improved displays of late.

Disappointing crowd again though. Come on people, it wasn't that cold!

Generally a good performance on a sticky pitch, Lawson and Brayley did very well. We are mostly keeping the ball on the ground and playing a passing game, hopefully the team is becoming stable with the recent signings, as they become familiar with each others game, it should only get better. As mentioned above, in the second half, we again pulled to far back and lost control of mid field, but the substitutions helped to push forward again, I also thought Morgan did well to keep out a couple of late shots.

Here we are about a third way through the season and in 4th, not to get too carried away, but what a difference too last season when we were one from bottom after 15 !!!

I enjoyed the game, it was better than I expected given how tight the previous three had been.

It just takes so much pressure off our back-line now we have some forwards that are capable of hitting the net. If you look at our midfield last night, three of the four in Junior, James and Sean are all very attacking in nature so it's not a big surprise that every now and again we get caught in that area. It's not a coincidence that our goals for tally has improved with all these attacking players on the pitch - That said I thought we were right to bring on Big Ced when we did as we were getting a bit overrun at that stage and he did his job.

MoTM has to be Lawson but I agree that it was a good all-round team performance.

The Concord bench were actually on quite jolly form last night, although alternative aggression was readily available. The Officials seemed OK to me.

Well done to the lads! Hopefully we can continue this form at Horsham. They had a good away win last night so it will be a tough game for sure.

Agree with the posts above. Watching the various comings and goings of players over the past year or so has been difficult but the balance appears to be there at the moment - lets hope it can remain. Its great for the first time in a few years to see the team playing with confidence, belief and at times with a touch of style.
