One thing I have noticed

7-1 is a slaughter and cannot be interpreted in any other way.

 

However in defence (something we were lacking!) I would like to make a few points:

 

1. Tonbridge wanted to make our goalkeeper man of the match. If Behcet had played then you could have taken off three of their goals straight away (sorry to our keeper of the day but his handling wasn't the best in that particular game).

2. I saw a team 7-1 down in the 89th minute still attacking and making chances. The spirit of the players must have been good - something I thought was lacking in the Lowestoft and Brentwood away games for example.

3. We haven't lost a game in normal time since (pens to East Thurrock is the only defeat in 9 games).

 

So yes, poor result and for those who didn't see it (and even to some who did) then I can quite understand the reaction, but I think this game along with the signing of Dave Collis was a real turning point for Hornchurch - long may it continue.
