Ian Savage - Knaphill

Russell Pym - Godalming Town - Loan

Miles Jones - Godalming Town - Loan

Jon Lloyd - Fleet Town

Asen Agov - Sandhurst Town

Peter Millington-Lee - Farnborough North End

Danny Turner - believe he was also at Farnborough North End, although not signed on for their CCL team this year

No players are getting paid. All funds are being put towards improving the ground at present.

No ones getting paid? Different from what I have heard!

Not sure who you've heard that from? We supply copies of the accounts to all committee members at our monthly meetings and you'll see from these that we don't have the funds to pay players.

Are Sandhurst paying any players this season?

Guildford City 2-1 Badshot Lea

Two Camara goals provided the 3 points for City. Brad Smith levelled in between. All three were decent efforts. Badshot Lea had a chance to take the lead after Tiny Temper won a penalty, much to the disgust of the Guildford players and bench. This was well saved by the keeper and the rebound was blasted towards the heavens, i think by Brad Smith. Guildford worth the win I think overall. Very niggly in the first half, the elbows and handbags were flying about a bit. Ref was kept busy with quite a few yellows issued over the 90.

Good footage as per usual TRS - must of been using that zoom button as far away as the "stand" is from the pith down at Guildford!!

That was a stonewall penalty if ever i saw one!! Your footage clearly shows the defender sticking out his leg and tripping me to be fair. :492:

Im not sure i agree Guildford worth the win overall though and that is a non biased view - We had much more clear cut chances in the game and all in all i think the minnimum we should have got was a draw being that we missed the penalty to go up 2-1 at HT. From what i remember, other than their two goals - they only had 1 other shot on goal which was at the end of the game.

That said Guildford City are a good side with a nasty edge - deffo a well drilled, very physical side as well being able to play a bit so fair play to them - Decent side.

GC are in a strong postion at the top of the table right now with the games in hand and all but theres a long way to go and I still personally think the winners of this division could be from at least 3/4 teams. coffee%20(2).gif

...... AND WHO ARE THEY TT ?

In my opinion - Badshot Lea,Guildford, Chertsey, Camberley (IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER) coffee%20(2).gif

Hi DT

Not what I've heard either.

As you obviously have access to more accurate information than I have, I'm sure what I have heard is just hearsay.

If we were paying players, I would openly admit to it and provide details. Personally I believe if clubs are able to pay players in this current climate, then they must be managing their finances very well and I would therefore see it as a positive thing if we were able to pay. Unforunately we are not in a position to pay players and I continue to spend my own money to ensure the club is financially stable.

Happy to answer any other questions anyone has.

im not saying you are paying any one djp and completely agree with your last post, just surely savage coming in has meant that his contacts have helped you gather some new players (never a bad thing)

Hi,

The reply was actually to DT's message.

Ian joining the club has definitely had a very positive effect. As you state he has good player contacts and we are seeing improvements in our existing players as well.

Very tough game this weekend against Bedfont Sports. Should give us an idea of how close we are to the top sides in the league.

Interesting that you haven't included Molesey or Sandhurst TT, both of whom have dropped fewer points this season than Badshot Lea and Camberley

I think both are very good sides and may well prove me wrong GF!!!

But I will stick with one of those 4 to be there or there abouts at the end of the season.

Who are your tips for the title GF?

I can't see past Guildford TT - given they've now beaten Chertsey, Camberley & yourselves. Chertsey , Molesey & the Baggies will slug it out for runners up with the incentive of a potential promotion slot should Guildford not be eligible.

TT - make your mind up.

You can't pick a "top four" and then, when challenged, change it to these four will be "there or thereabouts". Try that with William Hill this weekend and see what happens!

I think a lot of this prediction stuff is a bit hit and miss - we have yet to play Chertsey, Badshot, Chessington so I cannot really comment on them. We beat Camberley and Sandhurst 3-0, and I picked Sandhurst out as the best side we had played. We lost 2-0 to Hanworth and Colliers and could have come away with something, the same with Egham in the Vase. We lost 3-1 at Ash but they looked the worst Ash side I have seen for a while. We drew at Guildford and Epsom, should/could have won both games and both were decent sides, and I know for a fact that Guildford are stronger now than when we played them. Other than that we drew at Wembley and beat them this weekend, but they are not far off being a decent side, plus do have Shelton back now and he will always carry a goal threat as he did Saturday. The rest we have won, many convincingly, but nobody has really rolled over and certain games have honestly been in the balance for a while.

My personal view is that it may come down to who can keep their players fit, or who can afford to add to their squad when push comes to shove, or at least maintain their squad when a few lads are not getting regular games. There are also cups to consider, as success for some of our sides this weekend may signal the start of a potential Wembley dream, and this is a possible distraction. Will heavy pitches suddenly bring sides to a halt if their style is not suited, plus bring others to the fore because theirs is. Too many factors around to really be able to make predictions, certainly not ones that you would want to put money on.

Good subject though, and certainly a thread worth continuing, if only to see which four teams Tiny eventually comes up with at Christmas.

Bottom line is the one guaranteed statistic will be that the team with the most points at the end of the season will be champions - or as Tiny may say - they will be there or thereabouts!

Never been much of a betting man Manager50!!!

The reason i keep it to 4 is for exactly all of all the valid points you have made in your post - There are a lot of factors that decide a league title at this level and you pretty much listed them all (cup runs, keeping squads happy, budget and being able to go out and sign quality if and when necessary)

Everyone is possible of beating everyone in this league this year and there have been a few "shock" results already this year which nobody would have predicted beforehand hence why i say - Guildford apart on current form there isnt a stand out team that will run away with it - The league table will tell you that as even though its early days its quite tight point wise.

On another note Manager50 it should be a good game Saturday between B.Lea and Molesy and we'll have a drink after (Unless I dont score and/or we lose in which case i will have left in a huff cheesy%20(2).gif )

Guildford look strong currently but its early days and as all teams do they will go through a sticky patch sooner or later but agreed they have done very well against the so called promotion favourites - (WE WERE THE BETTER SIDE SATURDAY BUT THE RESULT IS ALL THAT COUNTS :flame: )

ONLY WATCHING THE CCL FOR THE LAST 2 SEASONS ALL PREMIER (SORRY DIV. 1) I'M NO EXPERT ON THESE TEAMS BUT THRU' MY EXPERIENCE THERE IS ALWAYS A TEAM THAT GOES ON A GOOD RUN EH STEVE (EGHAM LAST SEASON) AND IF IT WAS NOT THAT THEY STARTED POORLY AND THAT NGU KEPT WINNING THEY FAILED TO MAKE THE GRADE. BUT, SO FAR THIS SEASON THERE IS NO RUNAWAY LEADERS, SO IN MY OPINION, IF GUILDFORD START TO STUTTER, IT COULD WELL BE THE TEAM WHO HAS THE RUN-IN THAT MAY SURPRISE EVERYONE DOWN THE STRAIGHT.............

CONSISTANCY COMES TO MIND "!

Thanks TT. Spectrum not a bad place to film at, high position with no obstructions. Needs to be dry though!

Don't know why the City lot were so annoyed by the penalty decision. Defender put out a leg and you were duty bound to fall over it - definite pen :)

I guess on reflection, a draw would have been fair. I'm not much good at remembering stuff, I was convinced Dan Ker had taken the pen and Brad Smith had skied the rebound and it was the other way round! The report on the BL site was a bit sniffy towards Guildford and their style of play I thought...

They allways did better than that under the previous management team...Is there to be an SOS to PB........
