Chessy Boy,

It's always good when someone drops themselves in it as-

Our League had already been informed over two weeks ago by another CCL club about your firework hotline information that no game would go ahead-so they are lying too are they?!!!

Even you could not have been stupid enough to play a youth team game this morning!

Very desperate that you keep referring to one victory, perhaps you should concentrate on trying to bridge the substantial points gap between ourselves, its a 40 game season not one!

And quoting another poster, if you think your pitch and ground is up to promotion then you need your heads examing! I believe the Ryman League will require you to play home games during the winter!

I feel sorry for the manager and players at your club, every season loads of false promises, at least your clubs 'performance' this weekend will give us extra motivation whenever you have your fullchoice of players available

Thanks for that CT why is this addressed to me? "even i could not have been stupid enough?" surely someone with half a cell upstairs can read that this is my first post on the matter.

Whatever may have been the case weeks before when our requests were made, when i arrived at the ground that pitch was unplayable, you know..... wet ? no footing for players bordering on unsafe no doubt in my mind you would have had your nose in the air bemoaning us if you lost a player to injury while playing on the surface (or actually about an inch under the surface as was the case on Saturday). You feel free to call in to question the integrity of the match referee thats your call. Me i had not posted a thing and really cant be bothered to get in to a war of words with you so if you dont mind...... actually sod it lets behave like kids in the playground here ill start ....If we do bridge the points gap to you by the end of the season that should put us third behind your annual nearly not quite good enough effort :) .... Right your turn hope your conker is a good one i could do with cheering up !!!

Since my appointment as manager of Chessington & Hook United at the beginning of last season , ( I make no secret of who I am ),I have worked extremely hard to put together a team capable of challenging at the right end of the table and would like to think that our showing of last year vindicated at least some of the decisions I have made, including the club that I chose to manage when I had other offers on the table.

As a relative newcomer to the Combined Counties League having played and managed at Ryman level for most of my career ( although I had a brief spell involved at this level in the mid nineties ) I have taken every opportunity to get to know my way around the league using this site as one of the means for getting to grips with my new footballing environment. I have followed with interest the comments made and have read the differing views and opinions that exist ,and enjoyed as an outsider the banter that exists between posters and the followers of the different clubs. But....................I decided to enrol today as one particular post directed at my club crossed the line.

My club like just about every other has its problems ,the only difference being the type of problem you have. Some are shared and every where we go we raise a smile at the nature of the conversations that we overhear, recognising the similarity almost on a word by word basis of what concerns were being voiced, but some are different.

Our problem as is well documented is our pitch. I know that`s massively important but its the way it is and I know its frustrating to have games called off when on the face of it to someone 15 miles away they think the game will be on . Try it from my perspective when last year between March and the final day of the season I had to oversee 20 league games. This resulted in back to back weeks of Saturday , Tuesday Thursday and Saturday fixtures and although we finished a respectable sixth and I`m sure would have come up considerably short in terms of winning it , did it cost me maybe fifth of fourth place ? This year we have managed just four home league games and I am already concerned at the effect that will have on my squad when we have to play catch up but to call us CHEATS because our injury problems are also well known at the moment, thats just wrong.
