How much do we miss Welford

The answer is LOADS. I was going through the goalscorer stats and went into Shauns record. He has scored ten goals so far, and every game that he has scored in, Margate have won that game. I don't know how long he will be out, but the stats show that we really need him back soon.

Totally Agree for the first couple of games i thought he was a bit off the pace.

But not now, miss his presence in the box bullying centre backs and making half chances.

The sooner he is fit the better.

White has not been an ideal replacement yet although he tries hard.

shaun was on fire. His final goal against Whitehawk worth the entrance fee alone. Typical of our luck that just as he had hit a rich vein of form he is struck down by injury. With Kamara's departure (he seemed incapable of lasting 90 minutes) and no suitable replacement (sorry this guy White is not gelling up front - seems willing ). I had hopes of play offs but without Shaun for much longer and mid table is our best hope. When will he be back?

When will he be back?

Spoke to him Tuesday at the Bromley game and he said 2 to 4 weeks from then. He also said he doesn't want to risk rushing it as could put him out for longer.

Notwithstandin that welfors seems to be out until at least december-the worst thing is that the league games come thick\and fast this month.

7 league games-21 points at stake.

Critical month in the league

Pity we can't 'invest in a quality loan striker for this very important month.

If we could have got 14 points from the 21 at stake-it would really get us going but without welford; (and to a lesser extent for 3 games Saunders )it will probably be hard to get many more than 8/9 points.

Shaun's absence was immensely noticeable today. Quite a few pretty decent crosses were put in but there was no-one on the end of any of them. Shaun (or even Jay for that matter) would have been causing the visiting defence some problems with the quality of the balls coming in.

Big short term problem is that next 2 games are Tonbridge away and Sutton at home, 2 of the best teams in the division and without Jay and Sean still we will do well to pick up anything from these games. We were unfortunate to lose to a wonder goal today but have been toothless in attack since Seans absence. We are at least still looking solid in defence so I'll take two 0-0's all day long.

I'm afraid the quality of our shooting yesterday was abysmal.

Second half we had approx.six 'shots' on goal within the area, from at least three different players, and not one was on target.( excludes the DS effort from midfield ).

Not once from these 'shots' did their keeper have to make a save.

No wonder we have only scored one goal in five games - and that a header from Curtis.

Quality finishing is sadly lacking.

What utter rubbish Steve, our defence is far from predictable, the likes of Robinson, Cloke and Ball have been immense this season, backed up by Lacy and Osborne and, of course, Turner at the back.

No I noticed you don't change your views Steve :D

So lets get this right, you are saying we have no quality in the side when Saunders and Welford not there, however you are agreeing that the defence is fine and stable. Curtis, Ball etc not quality then??? No wonder I get confused reading your posts
