To try and get a real football discussion going for a change....

Would you not agree that if West was Urchins' best player it was pointless of Grays to lob frequent high balls into the Hornchurch danger area for Westie to imperiously head clear? In the last ten minutes, and all of the added minutes, Grays tried to play the ball around a bit and looked like they might score for the first time in the game.

The Grays No. 9 (sorry, don't have my programme handy to give a name) looked to be Grays best player with some passes that the rest of his team failed to capitalise on. In the end even he was reduced to just lobbing the ball in the general direction of Gay.

I watched the game with a long-time Grays fan and he was impressed with Hornchurch's passion and 'will to win' and reckoned that Grays could do with a few players like MacDonald and Andy Martin.

I know Hornchurch have been the team that everybody used to beat (I've supported them since 1983) but it seems from several un-intelligent posts on this forum that certain club's supporters can't handle Hornchurch's good fortune. Despite the money coming into Bridge Avenue I hope that our new fans can embrace the friendly atmosphere of the 'old' Hornchurch and are not reduced to the boorish behaviour of these posters.

For Hornchurch fans the situation is not unknown. The London Knights fan forum was regularly 'flamed' by Bracknell, Nottingham and Sheffield fans, trying to illicit a response. The trick is to argue with reasoned discussion and not retaliate with childish name-calling.

It's Banter, we all encourage it on the forums. There a very few moments of name calling but winding up a team when they lose is part of Football!

Macdonald ? Who ?

Going back top Keepers Danial is definitely up there but i actually do think (however much it pains mean to say it)t Jerome is the best keeper in the Premier league.

well done Ian...good sensible post and right to the heart of it....

for all the abuse that we get...we won promotion last year because of the players commitment to the cause and we'll win it again this year for the same reason...

most of these knockers that come on here and other forums have never played the game...if they had they wouldn't write such drivel...

all players want to be paid...same as we do....but they dont think about money when they actually play...no more than I ever did...

let 'em keep knocking us...makes days like saturday all the more pleasurable...

It's a naturall impulse in life to knock people who are better at something (obviouslly i have never had the need to).

Those scallywag Grays fans said they will take the wheels off the coach , I feel sorry for the players, George will have them all running home from the ground.

I'm sorry, I meant to write McGowan, but I must have come about all finger-dyslexic. My brain thought McGowan but my hands typed in MacDonald.

I'll get my coat....

I'm sorry but I feel banter on any forum soon degenerates into puerile drivel. If a forum is for discussion there should be reasoned debate. If people must take their terrace behaviour into a forum then maybe open up a special page for it so the more mature amongst us can avoid it.

I remember singing the 'Tractor' song down at Urchins at any team that came down from Suffolk or Norfolk but I wouldn't take it anto a forum - mind you when I sang that little ditty computers were as big as a house!

Well that i 100% agree with The General Forum is for Banter-Drivel and it should be kept on their, like you there are times when i want to chat about our midfield and the performance of the team, without some Jack@ss from Ricay coming on and giving his two bobbs worth!

Start clamping down moderators

We all make mistakes (not me of course ), I'm sure we had a guy who went Ricay with Stowe on loan called McDonald, so i thought you were talking about him.
