DAMN, I WAS COMING TO WATCH TONIGHT CC.

BUT HAVE TO ASK WATERLOGGED GOALMOUTH ? NO RAIN TODAY OR YESTERDAY ? ALSO WHY HAVE A PITCH INSPECTION AT 10 AM ? - WHAT REFEREE WOULD COME AND CHECK AT THAT TIME, ? I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT A PITCH INSPECTION AROUND 4 PM WOULD BE MORE APPROPRIATE ? .......ALL VERY STRANGE TO ME MMMNNNNN.

CHRIS THIS ISN'T AN EXCUSE 'COS COLLIERS HAVE A LACK OF PLAYERS FOR TONIGHT WOULD IT LOL !!!

I shouldn't qualify that stupid comment with a reply but I will. :350:

The pitch was inspected by a league referee. We have plenty of players available.

I was looking forward to the game but will now watch our reserves at Banstead against Sutton United reserves.

As I understand it, we have been unable to get on that part of the pitch to cut, roll and mark out since Saturday.

CC, PART OF MY COMMENT WAS TONGUE-IN-CHEEK.

I MUST ADMIT, SURELY YOU WOULD HAVE CALLED A REFEREE LATER IN THE DAY ? IT JUST SEEMS STRANGE THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY RAIN

SO WHY NOT LINE OUT THE PITCH LATER IN THE AFTERNOON THEN CALL FOR AN INSPECTION.......... BUT AT 10 AM ? DUNNO CC SORRY BUT THIS SEEMS A VERY STRANGE DECISION?

1st thing we have agreed on nice guy!!

This could be a First,I am in agreement with NICE GUY as well.A Referee calling a game off at 10am is ludicrous.Have Colliers not heard of Water Pumps,Forks, and Sand and a bit of hard work. The weather forecast is good as well.So what Chris is saying that NO WORK has been carried out since Saturdays game against Epsom and Ewell on the Pitch,or work has been done on the rest of the pitch, bar the Waterlogged Goalmouth.Could the game not of been switched,to the Opponents Ground.A STRANGE ONE INDEED.R.P.V. it is then unless they had the same deluge that Colliers sufferred being only 2 miles apart, highly likely,I think not.

What the [****!!****] do you know about anything?

I can't think of anyone who works harder for ANY club than Tony does at CWUFC.

I will pass on your "comments" and I look forward to your "discussion" on this matter with him in the Wibbandune bar!

Oh, btw, Tony does the RPV ground as well.

Now leave me alone.

Chris,I will tell you what I know,Tony does indeed work hard, not only at Colliers Wood, but as you say at Raynes Park Vale,Prince Georges Playing Fields(7 Pitches)and 3 Pitches on land adjacent to Colliers Wood,12 Pitches in Total, not sure about Wimbledon Extensions? So say 12,but in my eyes only 2 count Colliers Wood and Raynes Park Vale they are the priority as it is the Home to Senior Football.I know Colliers Floods quite easy due to its clay base, but maybe an investment in a Water Pump would help greatly, then at least the pitch has a chance to dry out,so that work can be undertaken to get the surface ready.I will talk to anyone, anywhere, anytime, not a problem.Sorry if I have upset you with my comments as your reply would suggest, just the way I see things, could the game not of been switched to Dorking,as you may of been aware of the problems yesterday.Dorkings pitch is playable.

The water drains directly out into Beverley Brook from the pitch.

No hand pump in the world, or any amount of sand or any amount of labour would have made the pitch playable IN THAT AREA OF THE PITCH tonight.

It would have been dangerous to run into that area from the firmer parts of the pitch. The players safety is the number 1 priority.

The rest of the pitch is fine.

And why would we concede home advantage (if there is such a thing at this level) to play at Meadowbank? You saw our game with Dorking after all! Hardly an advert for cohesive, attractive football was it?

I am annoyed that the game is off but I have moved on now.

the only point i have with it is time....

surely 9 hours is enough time to allow the pitch to dry up?

our pitch has some surface water on it right now so was thinking of getting a local referee in today to call off Saturday's match ?

any thoughts on this??

And what if it was played on and we had "on a pitch that was barely playable " and " surely the ref should have called it off" or " it took us 36 hours to get there and then the game was called off". Is it not also a good idea when a pitch like colliers wood that has been slagged off by so many in the past actually has a chance of being looked after now that it has a decent playing surface rather than playing on it and turning it into a mud bath. Also an early inspection helps shift workers and people who may be able to pinch a bit of overtime, so I for one say well done and good luck.

give it a chance though eh??

at what point do you actually say that calling off a match is too early?

JJ, ME THINKS SOMETHING UNTOWARD IS GOING ON ........WHAT DO YOU THINK ?

You really should change your name on here.

For the last time, the pitch is unplayable end of.

Nothing else to say.
