Sounds like my experience of England v Argentina, World Cup 1998.

Listened to the game on my portable radio on the deck of the Sea cat coming back from a day trip in Belgium.

 

Got back to Dover and was going through customs just as they were taking the penalties!

I went to see England play Greece in Athens a couple of years back, that was a heel of an experience, was on hols in Corfu 14 hours each way but it was well worth it.

no drinks were allowed anywhere near the ground, the greek police were not the friendliest..

nah the stop b4 the ground on the train was where it all kicked off, and the train i was on on the way back got bricked when it went under the small pedestrian bridge...

 

did they try and confiscate your coinage when entering?

no, but they made us stay 40 minutes after full time which was a bit annoying.
