Darren Marsden moves on due to work commitments

It's not the first time this has happened, and I don't think there is anything in it. What would be the advantage of Darren leaving the club if it was not for work. It won't be the money, and he has been given the opportunity by IOC to play two levels higher so why would he want to leave by choice. It would be no surprise either that he would return to Herne Bay.

Those older ones amongst us will remember Eliot Martin and what a quality player he was but could not find the time to move up to trhe Conference. I'm sure it was a huge decision for him to turn down that opportunity.

According to todays local Iain has stressed this was nothing to do with the tribunal as Darren asked him to go before the decision was made. He has said he is a warehouse manager and has to work Saturdays til 1pm hence his problems re getting to away games.

Its always going to be difficult with players not really earning much at our level, compared to full time employment, shame really as I liked him and he is undoubtedly better than Kent league standard, but onwards and upwards, no doubt DS a good replacement.
