Media statement

Former Wales Under 21 and "B" International, 39 year old, Carl Griffiths made playing debut for Barkingside FC on Monday November 1st 2010, entering field as a sub in the 83rd minute of an Essex Senior League Cup Group E tie and scored five minutes later from the penalty spot for a 3-3 draw with Clapton FC.

Anyone know if that is the Chris Lockwood who played for Braintree U18's about season 2002/3 ish.

Is he about 23/24?

 

Just curious if the same guy, played for Tom Marshall & Mark Sansom. (thanks)

If the Takeley v Basildon and Bethnal Green v Witham matches both finish in draws then Takeley and Bethnal Green will go through as best runners up eliminating Barkingside and Hullbridge/Southend Manor.

 

 

Griffiths looked unfit ,but he said hes getting fit for the dullbridge game

 

good to see another international grace the ESL following in the footsteps of Dixon,Greaves,Brazil et cetera....anyway just worked out that due to tonights result Basildon can now lose by two goals at Takeley tomorrow and still make League Cup quarter finals

can i just say what a complete shambles the league cup has been this season. for god sake next season just got back to 4 groups of 4 (with one group of 5 if necessary.)

 

what a joke

 

either groups or knockout rounds

 

groups of 2 and 3 is the most pointless thin i have ever seen or heard of

Whilst me would agree that the groups were rather strange this year at least be objective, I'm sure you wouldn't have found them pointless if you banked a quarter final place 4 or 5 games into the season as Mauritus did. If i remember at the time it was deemed a great draw but unfortunately things didn't go to plan- agree with the computer sounding man on this one- bit harsh calling him an moron me also thinks.

Peter Henry played at Basildon United a few weeks back in a charity match.

Flip Flop what is your issue with Barking FC? You seem to hold a grudge since your departure from Mayesbrook? You are down on all things Barking. Get a life mate and let's be adults and move on.

 

 

No issue with Barking FC mate if you can find one negative thing i've said about them copy and paste it on here and i'll discuss it, as you no doubt know I talk to Steve and Dicko regularly and would like them to do well so hardly think i'd spent my time slagging the club off. Simply replying to your comment regarding the format of the league groups and the way you addressed another forum member and as a regular user on here i don't think that's unreasonable. Simply asked for a bit of objectivity as at the time a two legged affair against Mauritus (and no disrespect to anyone there intended) would have been seen as a bit of a result and there were few complaints when the draw was made. I would personally find it sad if people associated the club itself with the majority of your comments as i don't think you're doing it any favours ie describing opposition keepers as poor, stating you saw illegal approaches made to players etc as you have done in recent weeks and have no doubt they would distance themselves from many of your views expressed.

We have signed Stuart Nethercott as a "wild card" but we haven't used it yet.Does it count?grin.gif

Flip Flop in your time at Barking I remember you were a light hearted guy who enjoyed a bit of banter. If my wind ups have really upset you then I apologise but I think it has been faily obvious I have just been pulling your leg. I will leave all banter at the door when I walk into the forum from now on.

 

On anotehr note if I want to offer an opinion on a player, whether it be a Barking FC player or from another club, surely that is my right as a "fan". We are allowed opinions mate so let it be.
