Bowers & Pitsea 2 - 7 Stansted.

Couldnt get to the game but was getting regular updates, Stansted went 1 up from the penalty spot, however B & P came back and were 2-1 up at H/t.

Terry had a few words at H/T which done the trick and the boys ran riot in the 2nd half, Dwight Gayle helping himself to a Hat trick and Joe galsworthy getting off the mark.

Any other scores?

As you doing stats tonight, which teams can qualify for the quarters of the league cup. Are Barking points per game average, or only open to the 2nd of the other 5 groups. Also can a team 2nd / 3rd in the same group theoretically qualify if they had more points than all the other 2nds. Or only 2nds can qualify. Thanks.

Barking are out, they cant finish above Basildon or Bowers,Barking were able to go through yes but you would need a remarkable run of results for the runners up in a two team group to go through.

Bowers can still go through but only if three other results go their way,Witham/Bethnal Green need the Takeley v Basildon match to end up in a big win for either team.

And I thought we moved on in life to make things less complicated?

FFS, just make both cup competitions two-legged affairs then no

tumbleweed games that cost more to put on than they rake in financially.

I see Coachie is still the same...playing Devil's Advocate and trying to

be all things to all people still cheesy%20%282%29.gif.

The hosepipe will be out soon, mark my words!

Why does everyone hate Witham? Must admit their manager made a right

prat of himself when they came down and we went up, going on about how

we ground-shared for promotion (had been there all season) and that it cost

us nothing for ground improvements - conveniently forgetting that we pay

rent and get nothing from the bar, but hey, I can live with that...

That was some win by Stansted on Saturday...we face them in the ESC

tomorrow night, if they have remembered it's still on..

Plus ca change

Well...... what happened at Mauritius??? I know Woodsy's gone, but when I saw them play Eton Manor earlier in the season they were very good indeed. On Saturday they were woeful. No shape, no pattern, little attacking threat and soem absolutely terrible defending..... plenty of work for their new manager to do if he's to avoid them slipping back to a joke team again.

As for Barking, hopefully the win will kick them on (one might suggest they have been lucky to play both Southend Manor and Mauritius at points when managers have just departed and they're in disarray). However, even on Saturday there were some defensive issues that are immediately clear. They've gone for a lot of young lads this season, I don't know if they struggled to hold on to last season's squad, but they just don't have that resolve that was there last year. However, they do play some lovely football when they get it down in midfield and there are one or two quality players there, just need a bit more experience back around them.

Haha, I'm sure. Some good young players at Barking though, and it was enjoyable to watch them play - they pass and move and play the right way, which is nice to see. I just think against some of the better, stronger, more physical and more experienced sides they might find life tougher.

On another note, as a Waltham Forest follower their return to the Lodge doesn't look any nearer. The place has still got a distinctly "building site" look about it.

Keith Roe has never had so many namechecks. Coachie maybe you would like to explain Hullbridges shocking League record at home to Southend Manor one win in 20 matches or indeed your abysmal record at Barkingside played 9 lost 9.

Dear Basil-Don I'm sure an eagle-eye person like you must have noticed the remarkable improvements in results during Coachie's era....coffee%20(2).gif

As you know Keith Roe has been quite busy in the last 5-6 season re-writing Hullbridge history books in positive.Shame the same cannot be said about the most successful ESL club...the only things he has re-written are the negative records apart a mighty award for the ESL secretary of the year!grin.gif By the way just look at the records v our bogey Side and you'll notice 3 draws recently...and against Manor 3 wins and 5 draws so it ain't that bad in the Coachie's era!futbolbud2.gif

55 league wins in nearly ten seasons...possibly the worse managerial record in history?

The fact is coachie Hullbridge have beaten Southend Manor only once at Lower Road in 20 league meetings, there is only one way you can end this run which is obviously the result of a gypsies curse and that is by the manager urinating against all four corner flags before the next match against the two sides, this is the only way of ending this run.
