Brackley Latest...

My view on today's match was that we just looked off the pace, The defence made a few errors that were punished in the first half and there very little else of note to mention.

We improved in the second half, but not enought to warrant a draw and Brackley caught us on the break and punished us. A fair result but I thought the score flattered Brackley a little.

WhenBernard came on he looked exciting and dangerous and we couldd have snatched a consolation goal, but nothing more.

Very similar to our last visit there really, not a very entertaining game and ultimately the better team won.

I also thought ref managed the game quite well telling players who were pulling each other that they were both doing it and to get on with the game. He made a few poor decisions, but every ref does and he could have booked an awful lot of players for tackles that another ref might have taken issue with. Also the players didn't appear to play act or try to cheat the ref, which was refreshing.

We will play like we did today and win games, Brackley are a decent side and sometimes we forget we are in a division higher, especially considering how well we have performed so far this season.

Well, time to concentrate on the league and try to preserve our Premier status, especially if there is potentially a 10 point deduction coming.

We never got going today and looked like a side with other things on our minds! All 4 goals were down to nobody tracking the runner but you have to say Brackley were by far the better side today! Agree with Fuzzy Adam Bernard looked our best player when he came on.

Fuzzy's and Sparksy's opening comments were excatly as my brother summed up our performance when he texted me a full time summary. It's a shame as the prize money would been great for the club, but it's happened now, and I'm sure that as against Cirencester and Didcot, the players will learn fron this defeat and come back stronger in what will be a tough game at Chippenham next week.
